Moped at Dover business stolen
DOVER — A local family says they are reeling after someone stole a moped from them Wednesday night.

The moped was taken from Liberty Mutual while its owner, Craig McGraw, was working, according to his fiancé, Tristan Mayo. It's believed the moped was stolen sometime between 9-11 p.m.

"He drives it every day, we have a big gas guzzling van so he uses the moped to go to work and run errands," he said.

The moped is described as silver 1982 Murray Phuc 1982. It has some tape around a portion of the headlight and a black milk crate tied to the fender. It was a pedal start moped and keys weren't needed to start it, according to Mayo.

"It's very important to us. Now we're down to one vehicle again," Mayo said. "It's going to make quite a difference on what we spend for gas."

Mayo said the moped gets 100 miles to a gallon, while the van gets eight miles to the gallon.

While police have seen more mopeds on the road, they say there haven't been many reports of them being stolen, according to Capt. Michael Raiche.

Anyone with information about the missing moped is asked to contact police at 742-4646.
