I upgraded my phone on Friday, the sales assistant (over the phone) told me to ensure someone was in Monday to take delivery.

I got a txt Friday saying the delivery will be Monday.

I got a txt Saturday saying there was a problem with something and that the delivery would be rescheduled.

I got a txt Sunday saying delivery would (again) be Monday, and a tracking number that didnt work on the DPD tracking site.

Monday morning I called Vodafone to explain the confusion, that I was unaware if it was going to be delivered or not, they said it will be here today (yesterday)....I stayed in all day and didnt recieve it.

Called to complain and got fobbed off that its not their problem.....apparently a manager is meant to call me back today (not holding my breath) so today Im staying in AGAIN to wait on a parcel.....

should I ask for some 'good will gesture'? they have offered to cancel the postage cost but IMO they should do that anyways, I ordered the phone to come yesterday, it didnt, so why should I pay for it.....do you think Ill get offered anything more? Really annoyed me....

I would phone the company who are supposed to be delivering it. Speak to one of their advisors and ask for information from them.

Before Christmas I had a few problems with delivery companies. My address would show Address Inadequate or something similar even though it was correct and I had never had a problem before. It might be that an error has occured with mislabling of the address or the something

sorry, I should have included....When I called Vodafone CS last night they said that as it was dispatched on a Sunday it was obvious it wouldnt get delivered on monday (even though they had told me it would be, and I have 2 txts to say it would be) They said I should have known this:?.

I made arrangements to make sure someone was home all day yesterday, including getting my mum to drive across town with 2 toddlers (babysitting) so that I could go to a job interview...If I had a job I would have lost out on a days earnings....and yet theyre not bothered

By them saying it would never have got here yesterday they have surely given me incorrect info and as a result my arrangements and need to stay in yesterday was a complete waste of my time

I had the same problem last week with DPD. Apparently, depending on where you stay it is a two day delivery! I took time off my work and everything last week and nobody was interested at all. I was absolutely furious.
Phone now getting returned to Voda (hated it-SE Satio) and think I'm going to cancel contract all together.

I ordered an upgrade online on Sunday from Orange. I got a text on Monday to say it had been despatched and got another one at 10;15am today to say it will be delivered between 10;43 and 11:43am via DPD. If it turns up i will be impressed.!

When the phone eventually arrives, phone them up and say you're sending the phone back and would like to cancel your contract, due to their terrible customer services. They either give you a good-will gesture or you get to move to a better provider...

this is where I feel guilty...I have got a pretty good redemption deal

600 mins, unlmtd txts, unlmtd internet/email, new phone (SE W595 i think....gonna give it to my mum) for £15 pm for 12 months

they have credited me £5 as a GWG but that just coveres the p&p cost of the phone

Im very wary of threatening to change and them saying orite then....cya lol

I would keep quiet lol that does seem a good deal for your money. That's the same phone as i have at the moment and it wasn't a bad one all in all.

Ooooh 11:07 and mine has turned up.

You shouldn't have to threaten to go elsewhere, you're complaining about having to wait in for a no show delivery, that is what needs to be addressed, you don't have to go to extreme lengths and threaten to change providers etc.

Vodafone (as said in the OP lol)

dunno why your suprised, they do it everytime... you wanna ring them up an complain, get some extra discount. (theres a thread on MSE about it, search Vodafone)

Postage cost? YOU have to PAY for YOUR upgrade?

Another compensation thread

OP - are you any worse off? No. So why should they compensate you any further?

Common sense would tell you that something despatched on a Sunday won't arrive Monday!

yes I am worse off....My mum drove across town to stay in for me (petrol, mileage, stress) I was asked by a friend to take her to an urgent hospital appointment (she had hurt her foot, couldnt drive nor walk so she ended up getting a taxi which she wouldnt have had to pay for otherwise so there are 2 taxi fees) then theres the pure waste of time of me staying in all day.

common sense says I take their word of delivery date, AND the 2 txts confirming the delivery date to mean that the delivery will appear on that date.....I did not know it wasnt dispatched on sunday, I ordered it on friday therefore common sense says it will be dispatched friday or saturday

think about what youre saying next time, yes, you just made yourself look dumb

for anyone whos bothered....the manager didnt phone me back, I called them and got a lovely fella to talk to....he agreed it was out of order, said the people who gave me false information will be repremanded by a manager and has added another £30 to my account, so £35 in total without me even asking for anything by way of good will....as I dont think I would be cheeky to ask for the equivalent of 2 months free :)

rather glad :)
