Hi
I have a ipod touch that i have had since 2007 i'm not sure which generation it is think it may be a Gen1 from what i remember.
At the time i jailbroke it and the firmware version is 2.1(5F137) (i think can't remember how to check it properly lol)
Question is whats the latest firmware i can safely put on it,and do i still have to do it the same way i used to do it.
think i had to use itunes version 7.6 and hold shift key on firmware update.
Im going to have a refresh on it now anyway just hoping for a point in the right direction as it's been a while lol
cheers
steve

hmm that didnt go to plan!
downloaded iPod1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore for my 1st gen ipod touch and installed itunes v8 and shift clicked restore and choose the firmware and it seemed fine then right near the end i got a unknown error occurred so re plugged in and itunes detects a ipod in recovery mode and the ipod give the itunes & cable symbol.
everytime i try it again itunes just says waiting for ipod and goes no futher.
if i just press the normal restore on itunes will that remove the jailbreak?
maybe ive got a slightly wrong firmware?
