hmm, school or university gyms usually let members of the public in, and they are usually very reasonable!

Search "Virgin Active, Cannons & LA Fitness: Less than half price loophole" at moneysavingexpert. Could save yourself a packet if you have a relatively local gym closeby (with pool/classes), especially if you dont already have med insurance

"Virgin Active, LA Fitness and Cannons cost up to £80/month, yet one medical insurance policy costing from just £20 a month gives you membership free. So get a medical policy, just for the gym membership, as overall you'll cut the cost in half; saving £100s"

I know that many LA fitness clubs have pools/classes, not sure about virgin/cannons.

Im afraid it nothing to exciting, the guy who does it just picks and chooses when he does it and its really annoying. So i decided to put my money to better use.

Dame they are ditching the med insurance deal with the gyms in november so wont be worth me getting it :-(

The worst thing was he didn't even show up sometimes and one of the more experienced people had to take over. I should add this to OBD's hate thread.

Check your local leisure centre.

The ones here in Belfast offer a membership scheme that costs £30 a month, and it gives you unlimited access to gym, pool, fitness classes, squash, badmington etc in every leisure centre in the Belfast area. Maybe Aberdeen do the same thing?

Thats good advice . We have a similar scheme in west yorkshire. 1 membership fee gives you access to 3/4 local gyms, all with different facilities, some with pools, many with classes

total fitness is great, you can join one and have access to all the total fitness in UK! they are a lot cheaper than similar (virgin, jjb, esporta, david llyod) and you get an induction and programme, gym, pool, classes, sauna, steam room, ladies only section, tvs in machines, running track
