I am coming to the end of my 02 contract, 200mins 200texts per month and 02 have offered me to renew my contract for £25 per month and receive 600mins and 1200text plus a new phone on an 18month contract.
Considering that I currently pay £30 month for the 200mins 200text then this does seem a really good deal as my partner needs a new phone anyway so I will give it to her.

Looking over my bills for the last 6 months I am probably using a maximum of 300 mins per month but average out at 200mins, so going on this new 600mins tariff I do not think I will fully use all the minutes and they will be wasted.

Is there a way and do 02 or any of the other provide this service where I keep the 600mins but split them between my partner and I on 2 different handsets and numbers.
She is currently on 02 PAYG but thinking of getting a contract so it seems a waste for me to have 600mins and not use them all when my partner could easily use 300 of them herself.

Thanks for any advice / pointers guys

why not just switch to a lower package and let your GF get a new contract and phone.

This was the only tariff they offered me on the phone, I thought it was quite good as a work colleague last week got a renewal on 02 18mth contract, 300mins and 300text for £15 a month with no new phone, he thought it good at the time as he was paying the same as me previously.

If I opt for the same deal he went for and my partner gets a new deal it will probably end up costing a bit more and we will end up with less minutes and by the looks of it a lesser quality phone, I basically offered to pick any phone from their range with a couple of exceptions, she would be restricted to a limited few.

If I took the deal you point out for £15 a month, she would still need to find a deal with a new phone for £10 just to break even with the £25 a month deal they have offered.

I doubt she will be able to and that is why they probably don't offer these joint account type package that I am looking for, at least we are both out of contract and have the luxury of picking the best deal, I will give them a ring on Monday to see what they can come up with, we are ideally looking for 2 contracts for around £30 (£15 each).
So maybe we will go with the £15 a month package and buy a new phone off Ebay or something, at least we are not tied to long term contract.

They may offer us something to keep us on an 18mth deal

Just to clear this up and help anyone else who is in a similar position I have just spoken to 02 customer services.
My contract ends next month and I told them I wanted to add my partner on to the account, this is what they told me would be the best and cheapest option of doing things and the prices they have come up with.

When the renewal date comes I will be creating an additional account (my partners) she will be billed under my account and will get the perks I get for being an o2 customer for many years with no outstanding bad debt or missed payments.

They have offered me the following deal:

1000 mins to share, this is split 500mins on each contract and 1000 text messages to share again split evenly.

2 new phones, I am getting the blackberry curve and she some small nokia model.

I get the blackberry bolt on and she gets free 02 to 02 minutes so she can phone me (How nice)

Its for 18mths and they will be charging the account £35 per month (£17.50 each)

Got a ref number and just need to confirm it before the renewal date.

£630 over the 18mths

So we have 2 separate accounts but they are billed together each month

I pay O2 £9.75 a month for 300 texts 150 mins, you got ripped off.

£7.50 a month more and a new phone with over 3x the amounts of minutes I think I have done alright
