What if we are getting closer to the sun?

We all know all planets orbit the sun?
What if we are orbiting closer the sun
and that is what is heating the planet up
by getting closer we don't notice?


I know about global warming and agree, above is my theory I have never thought of?
Bit far fetched you never know!

well. al gore wont tell you this but the other planets are heating up aswell, and as far as I'm aware Venus doesnt have cars, aeroplanes and coal-powered power stations

I know the planet is heating up... apparently.. but I do not think it is because of Man... The climate is always changing, and like everything else the media blow it up.... it is a government led theory.. the most dangerous kind... watch " The Great Global Warming Swindle" on google video.

It's not us getting closer. The sun is a star, and is forever expanding. It's the sun getting bigger and closer to us. One day it will swell up and explode, taking our whole galaxy out.

lol. one thing i learnt the other day talking to a physicist, the sun shouldnt be that hot! its temperature is too low for nuclear fusion, but with quantum physics there is a remote chance (as in 1 ina billion billion billion) that the atoms will fuse together and due to the enormous size of the sun this happens regularly enough to heat up the planet earth! :w00t:

It is indeed, well, the end of life on this planet anyway. WHo knows what is in other galaxies.

But, this is all in a few million years, so quite frankly, i don't give a flying duck

slightly off topic but still on subject, the Hubble can view stars as they were before our planet existed due to the massive distance between us and them (approx 12 billion light years or 7.0543 x 10 to the 23 miles)
Also, what is 'at the edge/outside' of our universe? By that I mean if we could get in a space craft and just go in a straight line, where do we end up? Weird.

I find a more remarkable way of illustrating the hubble fact is when you point out that the light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach us here (93 million miles @ 186,000 miles per second) so can you imagine how far away the furthest star is in distance when you consider that it takes the light from there 12 billion years to reach us!!

Its all just a way of controlling us....... 20 year ago we were going into an ice age... Now we are going to burn if we don't cut down on co2... Tax on Co2 next... lol

We should guess what the next horror is going to be... If we don't stop eating cheese the moon is going to crash into us....

well the idea of a universe, is, with many other space related issues, a theory. some cosmologists believe there are more than one universe, some dont, some stars havnt even had the chance yet for their light to reach us.

but one thing is for certain, there will never be a ship that can just go in a straight line forever.

many people just dont want to take on board anything about control.

im sure you all heard, i believe new zealand was it? they stopped driving on the right and are driving on the left now, like us. the reason?
something ive said to a select few before, and their government echoed the same views, driving on the right can make your mind weak.

i still remember reading in some old books in school, in geography, and even in their they lay claim that we are going to run out of oil in 30 years!

Best estimates are for 5 billion years until our sun goes nova, so forget about that!

The earth is not getting closer to the sun but a lot of scientists believe that the predictive software used by the Met Office Hadley Centre, which is leading international research into what could happen under climate change, does not take sufficient notice of sun (spot) activity.

I have a hard time working out who's being serious here and who is having a laugh...our sun is comparatively small for a star which means when it does eventually leave its main phase it will destroy the inner planets (Earth will most likely have had all life made extinct before this though) and the rest will move to outer orbits but nothing more spectacular than that.

thats freaky - even more mind numbing is the fact that the light from the furthest star took 12 billion years to get here yet that star has now expanded billions of light years further away from its position at that time as the universe is constantly expanding :w00t:

or expressed in miles, that star 12 billion years ago, was around 70,388,352,000,000,000,000 miles away! :-D

reasons. The first is that the Sun is constantly losing mass because of the solar
wind. As the mass of the Sun decreases its pull on the Earth decreases and
so the Earth moves slightly further away.

the Moon is slowly moving away from the Earth, the Earth is very slowly
moving away from the Sun. In the Earth-Moon case the Moon pulls on the Earth

i actually didnt know some of that, only the bit where the moon has the gravitational pull on the earth,

quite informative also, jus like being back in school lol,

i also had this other theory that mars is a mirror image of earth, :w00t: mind boggles why i think up some random things lol

if you think about it, we have life on earth, there must be life somewhere else in the vast expanses of space? i mean the boffins are finding similer planets to earth,

hurry we need a space craft, :-D
