After Activision CEO Bobby Kotick expressed his displeasure at Sony for not announcing a price cut, he came back a few weeks later threatening to "stop supporting" the console.

Sony honcho Howard Stringer then retorted that a price cut would cause the company to lose money on every PlayStation 3 sold.

Now BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk has entered the fray — adding his two cents. "I think it's silly to be saying you're not going to support Sony," says Zeschuk. "The brand itself is still huge and there are millions of [users] out there."

Bobby Kotick is not only the CEO and President of Activision, he also says silly things.

I bought one of each console, took them to bits, mixed them up again and put them back together, I now have a PS360 which gives me the best of both worlds, I can use either style of pad, play both types of games and dont have to get into any daft arguments about which is better! looking at adding in the Wii components to complete the project :whistling:

i just cannot use 360 pads i think the design is terrible other than that not much diffo to me

Some people think
The xbox 360 live is better
Friends use the xbox 360
The dualshock controller isn't as good as the 360 controller (it won awards you know)
Xbox has cross game voice chat
The bc is good

Psn is free and as good as live and dlc and games can be shared to reduce cost.
Friends use ps3
Ps3 is quieter
The xbox 360 is more prone to breaking down
The bc is really good (as a long as you have it)

which games work better on which consoles
#21
well i got both and mainly play the ps3 because its much easier.
i would play the 360 but i cant be asked to go through the hassle of buying live, buying a wireless adapter or setting it up through my laptop.

with the ps3 i just switch it on and get playing. simple.

as for the graphics. well i dont really take much notice. they look similar but i tend to go for whichever is easier to set up and just play and thats why i chose the ps3 over the 360.
#22
the xbox online community is much better than the PSN, yes you have to pay 40quid for the membership but id rather pay that and get a better gaming experience than to have it free and get basic things.

You actually want someone to list all of the games depending on the console?
Look online.. .
I know Burnout was better on the PS3.

Was it ?

Why ? what did you notice ?

Looked & played both pretty much the same on my hardware. Both versions had faults graphically - frame rate split once in a while etc.
#27
did the 360 have keyboard and mouse support for unreal tournament 3?

The online intergration on the PS3 was much more fluid. If you read the comparisons you will see things like the draw distance etc were better on the ps3. Obviously not a huge difference especially as the developers made a great Multi-platform game.

I would normally notice draw distance it is something I look for, pop up, tearing clipping etc.

Never noticed it. It does move fast though whilst playing making it maybe difficult to notice. On the other hand though I have sat and watched my son play it giving me a different perspective/ viewing range etc and I still never noticed even whilst moving slow to look for gates, billboards etc.

Suppose would have to have them set up side by side both running at same time look into distance from same vantage point

I remember when both consoles were just about to be released. PS3 fanboys were saying its twice as powerful as the xbox bla bla bla......

I can barely notice the difference between them graphics wise. Now the fanboys are saying that the ps3 will be loads better in 2-3 years time once developers know how to push the console to its limits, well by then the next generation of consoles will be out

thats because the games right now are pushing the 360 to its limit while the current games are just using a fraction of the ps3's power.

i find the 360 pad very uncomfortable to use. the sony pads have always fitted my hands perfectly. Had 3 360's and now have none. Prefer my ps3 all day long.

I used to prefer the ps3 pads I know think the 360 fits better in your hand, maybe thats part of growing up and getting bigger lol.

I hated the xbox original. Prefer my xbox360 for games, just easier to use and just a better gaming product.

PS3 is ace for entertainment, I have far more games for my ps3, but they aint been played yet currently on my ps3 for assasins creed. I mainly use it for blu-ray and stuff like Iplayer.

i think probably, because i have had playstation since the launch day of the original PSX , and the pads have always retained the same layout, i am now fully accustomed to the layout and thats why i find them more comfortable and natural. Always thought the xbox pads 'big and clumsy'
I guess if i spent years using them id feel different but thats never gonna happen now lol

the only thing its going to be able to improve on is the ability to have a slightly better ai.

As well as a lot more going on potentially. Xbox struggles with Red alert 3 and the amount on information on the screen.

That could just be down to bad programming though.

The ps3 is not liked by a lot of developers, hypervisor and spe not a good mix for them to work with and in the end the customer base will suffer.

Yep, but like i said before, by the time all this 'powers' unleashed, the new consoles will be out.

I have both and much prefer the 360 for gaming to the point where i've actually sold all my PS3 games. The online and the gamertag system on the 360 is on a different level to the Sony offering and as most of the people I know have 360's it is logical for me to get my games on that system. Has to be said though that the PS3 does have some added functionality (BD, Browser, OK divx support) that makes it worth owning regardless.

Just have to add that the browser on the PS3 is one of the most aggravating pieces of crap I've ever had the misfortune of using simply because of how useful it could be if it didn't freeze the whole system all the time.
