It's not that bad.. I think I'd miss it if it wasn't there...
#3
Going to take an incident where the referee cannot be heard to start the removal.
#4
if i had to sit next to someone for a whole game with one of thoes i would ram it up their a$$
#5
Goddam annoying isn't it, surely it will be worse this game due to it being the opening, and South Africa are taking part?
#6
You'd think they could turn the background volume down a bit - every match will be like this, unless they don't bother making the noise at other countries' matches

England will just be as bad.

TONE DEAF: Danny Jordaan
JUST days after Danny Jordaan, chief executive of the Local Organising Committee, announced that the vuvuzela would be “part of this World Cup” the Ear Institute has warned that the popular horn could cause permanent ear damage.

surely the microphones in the sidelines should be switched off ?

Its OK sporadically - adds to the Cup atmosphere, but constantly!

why cant some technology allow you to adjust the relative volume of the crowd vs the commentary

and why cant microphones point more into the pitch than the stupid crowd?
#11
It is driving me insane !! Hopefully will die off after the first couple of matches .... well thats what i wish at least.
#12

FIFA president Sepp Blatter revealed this week that broadcasters want the instrument banned at next year's World Cup.

But to his eternal credit, the Fifa chief also sprang to the defence of the humble trumpet, saying people must accept that it is part and parcel of football in South Africa.

"That is what African and South Africa football is all about - noise, excitement, dancing, shouting and enjoyment," said the most powerful man in world football.

where are all the racists chants and flares that are usually going off at the world cup.......this noise is just plain ridiculous

the english are gonna love em tomorrow, rule brittania on the vuvuzella

Gah, sounds like a wasp.

Had a quick look through the history:

They are generally considered to be quite annoying, how one can play football with them playing in the background is unknown. Penalties in games with them being used are often fluffed.

---

I loled.

And I agree, it sounded like a swarm of large hornets. Wtf? They must have some puff to keep that up for 90mins!
#22
pointless things, thought it was just the african teams that blow them but other national teams are using them so you know that this is all you are going to hear all through the WC. If they could make some kind of better sound like this

players might get in the way though

Nah... Have you seen the whistle?:p
#27
It's.not that bad, but I would.much prefer hearing singing, chanting and cheering. Though I suppose it makes.a bit of an atmosphere at some of the lesser supported teams later in the tournament
#28
kinda clamed down now, guess some people are getting tired of all the blowing!
#29
at least we wont be able to hear the brass band when England play.

Lol, reminds me of this scene from Tommy Boy. (Couldn't find a good quality version)

Lol, they probably didnt keep this in the history, but also made me laugh - didnt even have the stars on wiki!:
"A vuvuzela...is a f****ng annoying blowing horn...":-D

after someone mentioned a swarm of hornets, its gonna ruin my world cup for sure now as its driving me nuts! I think they turned the crowd noise down in the france match so was less intrusive but seemed like there were only a few hundred people watching the match!

what a PR disaster.
