Looking to change my stock cooler for a aftermarket one but needs to be less than £20.

Also has to fit a LGA 775 Socket for Core 2 Quad.

May be a couple of quid over your budget, but the Thermalright Ultra 120 extremes are very good, and about £20 second hand, but you may have to pay postage and factor in the costs of a 120MM fan if you don't have one.

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is very popular and can be bought new for under £20 (fan included).

I would go for one of the above if I was you. £20 is a good budget for a cooler, as it tends to be that as you spend more and more, you gain less and less.

I've got Zalman 9700, which you might be able to find relatively cheap on eBay since MSI give them away with their Zilent P45 motherboards, which keep getting punted at £50. I was going to sell mine before I gave into temptation (£20 on eBay for the heatsink, making £30 for a P45 mobo - win!), and am kinda glad that I didn't, since the 9700 ranks pretty highly, and lets me overclock my E6300 to 3.5GHz. Rock-solid, too. W00t!
