i'm looking at getting a new netbook, i dont really want to pay more than £200, what would you recommend? ive looked at the acer aspire one 751 which is £199 on play and also the samsung n130. I saw the the acer aspire one a110 which is pink at £149 inc postage, however this on only has a 16gb hard drive and the other acer has 160...will this really make much difference? please help

the advantage of paying about 230 is you can get a 9 hour battery

i got a dell from refurb just last week for 174, but has a 3 hour battery

Also, the 16gb hdd is a solid state drive, so it runs alot quicker and smoother, so if your not using it for storage, the ssd might not be a bad idea

I have the N130 and its a great little machine, not sure how the Windows XP runs on it as standard though as the first thing I did was install Windows 7 ultimate and it runs like a dream = great battery life (6-7) hours lightweight, decent keyboard layout (and I have fat fingers as a rule), good clear display,

id be using it for internet and documents, thats it really, so the cheaper one would be more benficial?

It depends really on the processor etc. But the whole point of SSD is that they run quicker and more smoothly. I'd personally go for the NC10 (Samsung) just because its so usuable and portable, also after you up the RAM to 2gb it runs windows 7 like a dream

okay, thanks for all your help everyone :)

you cant go wrong with samsung though, i have the N110 (9-10hr battery life) and love it, great build quality, compared to some of the other netbooks out there, looks a dam right sight better than acer netbooks (not bashing acer, as i have good acer desktop) acer netbooks dont look like quality build either

the reason it might have had an ssd as it might be the linux version, you may be a windows user

in which case they come with a regular hard drive

all netbook use the atom 1.6 processor and 1gb ram so all perform as well

the main difference is battery life

Not easy to upgrade, but when you take it apart you can easily see that the build quality of the Aspire A150 is good quality, cannot vouch for the newer ones in the Acer netbook range.

hmm k, samsung is easy to upgrade in ram terms, it has a slot to unscrew and on the slot it says "Memory" takes about 30seconds to snap in a new 2gb stick :)
