I've only had 2 fords and a vauxhall in between.

Vauxhall loses, but its not a bad brand.

Peugeot for me too - had a 309 that we nicknamed The Pig as it was so awful.

Used to have to leave it running for at least 20 mins before you stood any chance of it working. We always hoped someone would steal it whilst it was left on the road with the keys in, engine on...no such luck!

we used to have a yugo lol
#5
Same as op.

Skoda, from the 80's - a 130 Rapid Coupe !! Rapid, it certainly wasn't - what a piece of junk. I've had tons of different makes and models over the years and learned the general rule of thumb - try and buy German or Japanese. Current car is an old MX5 and it's a stormer !!
#8
Citroen,complete piece of crap

Talbot [Horizon]

The gear mechanism / balljoint would disengage sometimes, and it always came to a halt going up steep hills :)

Vauxhall, our Zafira spent more of the 6mths we had it with the dealer than with us!
#11
Used to have a Fiat Fiorino we had to start with a hammer and screwdriver!!

Oh and had a Ford Montego which was a real rustbucket, floor went before it was a year old!!!

Fiat Cinqucento.

700cc's of raw power!!!!

That's what Skoda's are

I love rapid coupe(only made as a coupe) ... it was a good car. You can't compare them with today's one :-D

40k merc (first car)

What's that comment for brah? As I recall you don't even have a driving licence

40k merc is the worst car, your right  :-D
#19
hmmm

had fiat punto for me!

Renault.

Their customer service is appaling, and their parts department dont have a clue. I dont expect them to know renault cars inside out but a basic knowledge of how a car works should be there.

Saab 9-3 - 56 plate - like driving a big, wallowy armchair - Bad Times.

garbage456
that surprises me really

Theres nothing wrong with it really - but its so anonymous - the steering is unresponsive - suspension is wallowy and soft, handling is nothing to write home about, engine was - meh

Just nothing to get excited about! lol
#24
fiat also known as Fix It Again Tony

Citroen C3, 2003 reg, totally rubbish
Had a crash on motorway @ 70mph, fliped and rolled car smashing a fence up and hitting a tree, car was a right off, but surprise surprise NOT 1 AIRBAG worked, citroens response, you have to be going a bit slower upon impact and hit the car at certain points / angles for the airbag to work, Luckily i walked away with just cuts and bruises

Austin the word you were looking for? ;-)

For me, Vauxhall Astra Estate, drove it once then sold it on at a 70% loss. That was still a gain in my book though as it was complete and utter ****

I went to college for 3 years to study motor vehicle engineering. The one thing I learnt is

DON'T BUY FRENCH

Vauxhall Vectra SRI company car, was dire, horrible to drive you felt so remote from the road,, there was no feedback or any driver enjoyment, shame the fleet manager loved them, I had to change jobs to get away from that thing. I often left it parked up with the keys in and no scroaty ever tried to knick it.
#34
Worst car I eve had was Rover 45.(2000).It was too noisy, clumsy, always lights on such as engine management, abs, constant hassle.I swore to myself I will never ever buy Rover again.
Since then I had many different makes and for the last 3 years I have been with Renault which seems to work for me.
#35
I had one of these, note I rate it more highly than that poxy Astra

Skoda Felicia on a 99 V reg.

Brought it with 66k on the clock,

Scrapped it with 68k on the clock as it would have cost £2200 to fix haha
#37
Worse brand ? Austin without a doubt.
Had a brand new Metro that leaked water onto the dashboard driving it home from the showroom. Within a few months it needed a new clutch, water pump, wheel bearings and suspension rebuild.

The Montego also was an Austin , you can't buy this brand anymore thankfully.
