What is this insect? (note: picture is not of a spider for those arachnophobes!) UPDATE: A stink-bug (ewwww)

I have had quite a few of these in my room every night over the past week and they are horrible, they buzz loudly when flying, they dive-bomb me and make the most hideous stink when stressed/dying/near me.
I was wondering if anyone knows what they are?
Thanks.
Oh, and sorry about the cat hairs on the carpet, I need to hoover the floor!

I meant the insect is not a spider so people who don't like them will look in the thread.

lol, but what is it? And how best to kill them, Raid spray doesn't work, it just made it's stench and carried on walking along.

i find good old fashioned squishing tends to kill most bugs

I can promise you there are no pubes it seriously is just cat hair. The insect is about 1.5 cms long. And gross.

Thank you :)
'Also known as a stink bug' yeah, it does stink baaaad, hopefully will only be whilst it's warm, I hate the blighters. Now to find out how to get rid of them without the stink, squishing is making a mess and smell, blurgh.

Sadly I think it must be, it looks the same and stinks. I get about 5 a night in my bedroom, they must be coming from the garden down below my bedroom. Any suggestions of how to get rid of them, Raid and squishing not working and catching also makes smell.

Thanks for your help guys, I've been wondering for over a week and family didn't know either.

If you have a cat, then you have poop on your carpet.
#17
If you've got any pot plants indoors - look under the leaves for any neat white eggs, that might be where they are coming from.

Do you have a cat flap?

No, she just goes 'meooowwww', marks time on the carpet and annoys you until you wake up/get up/give in and let her out.
I would love the life of my cat, she gets everything she wants (food, cuddles, door opening/butler services) on demand the lucky thing!

We get the things in the garden, normally they are green, the fish eat them if their thrown in the pond! If they ever get accidentally into your salad, they really taste foul!

If I found one of them in my house, I would move house...

Eugh, that's pretty gross. My cat once tried to jump at one and play/kill it like she does with the flies and moths but she got a shock and won't go near them now :(
I just read to put them in soapy water, I'll give that a go.
#23
So if I were to remove any bugs you have and meooowwww a lot, can I move in? http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn219/jumpingphil/giggle1.gif

It's a beautiful house but next to a farm in the countryside, we get lots of weird creatures out here.

Use a paper hankie. Less high maintenance than a b/f.

Oooh, good plan, I lack common sense sometimes, but must admit boyf is much more fun than a paper hankie...oh dear that sounds so bad...but luckily I'm a girl so hope I can get away with that comment!

Oh, and Chesso the gift certificate you did was perfect, thanks for all your help with that a few weeks ago, the pressie went down so well!

Hey, I'm loaded.
I don't need no high maintenance.
"food, cuddles, door opening/butler services on demand" that sort of stuff would do me.

Am I alone in never having heard of these?

I'm packing my bags.

And the 5 kids, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 hamsters, 3 iguanas and 2 chinchillas.
Do you think you have enough room. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn219/jumpingphil/giggle1.gif
