Ok, so the raw meatballs that you can buy from the supermarket are nice. However its cheaper to make them yourself. I do so by getting a pack of mince and rolling into ball shapes. But the texture isnt the same, what am I doing wrong?

Only thought of this joke coz if you add the egg and breadcrumbs and bits and bobs, they're almost Rissoles.

All the above+chuck in any flavours you like such as mint or oregano and it's a good idea to knead them as if making bread dough.
Roll them out in a little bit of flour to seal them:thumbsup:

Instead of breadcrumbs try bashing up 6 cream crackers and adding. Mix it really well with your hands too

i mix a pack of mince with some sausage meat, salt, garlic salt, pepper, mixed herbs & a couple of dashes of worcestershire sauce.

Texture of the balls is all down to the rollling, too firm and they can be stodgy....not firm enough they break apart, add some finely chopped onion, a handful of stuffing and a small amount off egg to bind, roll the balls gently between the palms of floured hands.
Flash fry in a pan for a minute to seal in the flavour then bung in the oven with sauce of your choice
