I mean, its a i3 330 - with a 330GT GPU and 4GB ram. Do we really need super high powered machines for these programs!! Or is it the software makers taking the wee wee.!!

Rant over

You would probably be better asking this question somewhere like www.elementsvillage.com

Good luck!

I would imagine video editing on an i3 would be very frustrating

I do video editing occasionally on P4 1.7GHz with 128Mb of RAM and it does it with no probs.

Certainly I'm not using prem pro, but I'm not using windows video maker either.

I would say you should be fine with the spec of your laptop assuming your Hard drive has enough space.

However Adobe video editing software can be flaky and easily clashes with all sorts of other software/drivers etc.

My dad does a lot of video editing and has a separate login where he turns off everything he can, including his network card so adobe has as clean an environment as possible to run in.

for further advice you should try http://forums.dvdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?s=768d77ecfb2cf0b5f55972964b167c22&f=3

Why not just say what you are using - instead of what you are not using? oO

I have a quadcore 2.40ghz with 8gb ram and and I can use after effects and premiere with no probs. It still takes a while sometimes for some renders but ive never had it constantly crash.

It could be down to the software, or software conflict.
