I know this is a strange one but my mouse (MS Laser Mouse) is really ----- me off!
Every click sends a shock wave through my ears! I need a mouse that is nice and silent. Any suggestions?

Are you particularly sensitive to sounds?

I dont even really notice the sound of my mouse.. it's less noisy than my own "gunshot" typing. Sounds like a machine gun lol

Take it apart, and either remove the little spring, that sits on the wheel ratchets, or flatten it a bit.
Or try a little touch of grease, or vaseline, on it.

I use a wireless logitech..not much noise at all....

Its not just sounds, it seems all my senses are sensitive to something or other!

it sounds like you have some form of sensory over stimulation hon..

I guess kinda pulling back and "depriving" your senses somewhat helps you feel more comfortable?

You could go for the Silent Mouse Ex.

I'm using the Microsoft Sidewinder and it's just the right volume. Loud enough to let you know it's been clicked but quiet enough that it doesn't annoy.

That may be down to the keyboard, an awful lot of keyboards only register the key at the bottom or very close to the bottom of the stroke so to type at any speed on them you have to slam the key right down to the bottom.
