Ive been using firefox for ages now and over the last few mnonths its gone crap! it always goes to bing when i type in a valid address, some pages dont load at all and generally its just gone down hill when it use to be the best! i know its not my computer or connection cause when i try it on internet explorer its fine, but all my settings are on firefox now, i.e passwords etc etc.

Anyone else having any issues or is it just me?

I have chrome as well but again its the whole settings issue!

ive had memory leak issue when using flash player in FF, but not anything like your prob here

I don't have that problem and i've been using firefox for years

You've probably accidentally installed some sort of bing toolbar or something, Microsoft are really getting on my nerves with their constant onslaught of bings ads- they're forcing the bloody thing down our throats and I for one don't want it. MS just can't accept that Google have hands down beat them in that area.

Okay, so that went OT. Nothing has happened to Firefox as a program, it still works fine for me. The problem is something at your end, if pages aren't opening at all and your performance is poor, then you should probably do a deep scan for viruses, spyware and the like.

EDIT: Or, as others have mentioned, just reinstall Firefox lol. Actually, have a good scan while Firefox is uninstalled, just for good measure.

I dont currently have any scan options, just the basic one and that came up clean. How would i re-install fire fox? shall i remove it using the add and remove programs function on my pc? And then re-install it from new?

It's your computer.

As above, probably a toolbar that you've installed. Something has changed your default search provider. It not loading pages could be one of about a billion things.

yes, export your stuff using below, then a full reinstall of firefox should fix it

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848

and export your bookmarks by going to bookmarks - organize bookmarks

Loads of possiblities...
Tools > Add Ons (Check what extensions/plugins are installed)

It's probably easier to reset your about:Config File.
Mozilla Guide: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
This version is probably easier to follow: http://www.dq.winsila.com/internet/how-to-restore-firefox-aboutconfig-default-settings.html
