Ok so it's time to upgrade.

I want
Good battery life, clear calls,
I only really use, calls, text, picture messages and a bit of internet.

Or should i jack it all in for an iPhone?

help?!?!?

Depends how much you want to spend each month?

What ever you do, dont get the Iphone!

iphones are great, but not the best for battery life.
as soon as the 3g kicks in it eats the battery.
i wouldnt swap mine for anything else though.

Deps on the budget. The ultimate at the moment is the iPhone. I've had the 3g for more than a year now and I love it. The battery lasts all day for me with loads of 3g & wifi browsing + facebook + Twitter + and loads of call and txt.
I've had almost all the htcs and the nokia lots before and nothing comes remotely close to this.

EVeryone who has an iPhone tells me i should get one, the battery doesnt last very long at all does it (a day maybe?)
The tarrif is not the issue. basically i had the sony ericsson w890i and it has been the worst phone i have evr owned. So this time want to make sure i get teh phone right before choosing the tarif

No wonder you stuck with the iphone after having used all the HTCs and the Nokias, obviously these phones do far more than the iphone so that explains why ....

You raise a good point (surprisingly).

At the moment, my favourite phone is the HTC Hero. Prefer the way it handles apps a lot better than the iPhone, although if you went for that you probably wouldn't be disappointed.

When I had the HTCs I was always downloading apps, coping them, running SIS files, trying to improve this and that, and most of those application for win 6.0 and 6.1 were trying to make it feel like the OS on the iphone.

Nokia replaces there products way too often, same with Samsung, and SE, I dont want to spend so much money on a device that gets outdated in 1-2 months after my purchase. I pity those who bought the N97.

I`m just saying that the iPhone works well, entertains like nothing else and has no flaws for me.. so I recommend that.

honestly me being a nice well rounded sincere human i would say BUY AN iphone , it is easily the handiest most enjoyable phone u would have in your pocket . i have used/tried all current phones and not one made an impression on me like the iphone has for the last 2 years

u lucky lucky person , wish i knew someone with an open code !!

na insurance is extra , theres a few banks who offer it free . if you visit the avforums iphone section theres a thread about who does good cheap/free insurance :)

i got th 30% off too, we get some card with work that gives us the discount.
insurance through o2 is very expensive, i took my insureance out with my bank.
works out much better and you get other things thrown in if you do it right.
i get breakdown cover, travel insurance, and iphone insurance and loads of other stuff from my bank, cheaper than it cost to take out the O2 insurance.

I am sure the 30% discount doesn't apply to iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre tariffs. I would recommend double checloing with your mate. I am in the same situation. Was annoyed O2 do not allow the family and friends on iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre of the Simplicty tariffs. Argh!
