There was a deal for cheap PAYG mobile internet a while ago. If you can find it that might sort you out.

PAYG mobile broadband. I use 3 and I have no problems with them whatsoever. Top up £10 and get 30 days mobile access (1Gb download limit - which should be more than enough for general surfing/e-mails etc).

There is an older style modem for £39.99 from Play or you can buy the newer, slightly faster modem which includes a slot for a memory card making it a memory stick as well as modem for £48.93 from 3. 3 link is product detail only - go to three to order. (Available in white as well as black).

I have both modems and prefer the £48.93 one as it doubles as a memory stick and looks nicer lol

Quidco potentially available on both.

All the networks offer some sort of PAYG mobile broadband, it will depend on the coverage as there is no point going with the cheapest if you have no coverage with them.

O2's is currently £30 for dongle and £7.50 for 1GB + unlimited WiFi or £2 daily for 500mb + unlimited WiFi

Laptop deals are all on 18/24 month contracts and are not free, you pay for the laptop in the price of the monthy deal. You will tend to pay 10-20 more a month for having a laptop with the deal.

Can't find free trial but they have a good offer of only £39 for dongle with 1GB loaded and £10 back through Quidco = £29 with 1GB

just need to know I can get reception in Inverness ?? (anyone up there ??)
