Have no idea on the answer... But await with baited breath. (literally)
some have proprietary protocols, so 'happier' using matching equipment as the 'overhead for HD is quite immense (look how many revisions to get the HDMI cable up to snuff - a cable!); what does the projie manufacturer prefer?
beware, even international standards aren't the same country to country, a few of us got cheep gear in States only to find different channels allocated here.
