was the £10 deal for Desire when it was release? (with payment extra for phone), if so then that was a one time only offer and I doubt they will give that kind of deal out again soon.

For a contract that low prices expect to pay £300+ for the phone.

When I switched from O2 to T-mobile 8 months ago after a number of calls to different sales personnel in T-mobile sales I managed to get the following

1) Monthly discount of £5 everymonth for the whole contract
2) £20 towards accessories
3) 200 extra minutes a month
4) Free HTC
Desire

So I pay £25/month on a 24 months contact for 800mins, 500 text, unlimited landlines, 3GB internet (which I go over every month and they dont charge more, only receive a text message) and the HTC desire. Mind you I was a new customer and NOT retention, so keep calling, but dont give your personal details until you get a deal you like. I also found that calling in the evening (around closing times) was better. Try it and let me know if this helped

Yeah well, sort of... I paid £200 for the phone plus the £10/m but it was after taking something low-end out but deciding to cancel inside the 7 days rather than what they were offering on the 'open market'. I actually have no issue paying a decent amount towards a phone to get a low monthly cost. They're offering £290 for the phone but since it's almost a year since I got the other deal it seems odd paying more than I did then. the HD is available at £320 (again plus £10/m for 24m) which I'm looking at but would prefer to e.g. get that cost down £100 or so.

Didn't actually get a chance to call today so will do it tomorrow and see how I get on.

What they did for the Desire was a stonking deal (i got mine for £15 a month with £100 up front, but 300 mins instead of 100).

it's up to you though, if you are happy with a high upfront cost then go for it.

Really good deal you got there, apart from that.

I nearly always go near or over my 3gb limit every month.
