What's the best type of mattress to get to stop aches and pains in the morning?? xx lol

Our mattress needs replacing as we both get out of bed in the morning with aches and pains! But there are soooo many on the market and they cost a fair bit so I don't wanna risk spending a few hundred quid to find it's no better. Any recommendations please?

Thanks in advance xx

Not sure u can get the full effect from laying on a bed in a shop for all of 10 minutes - unless u reckon they'll let me stay the whole night! lol
People with experience is what I'm after really :)

I had same question about a month ago, my back was 'creeky' in morning and my neck was getting stiff.

We bought set of memory foam pillows and THIS cage sprung with memory foam topping and I can honestly say it's the best I have ever had. I can't believe how much a difference it has made to how I feel in the morning !

Just to add Quidco is available with this company ....

Don't know if its the same for all memory foam mattresses but whenI bought my tempur if you tell them its for medical reasons ie bad back, you doing have to pay VAT. I just had to sign a declaration. Its a decent saving on an expensive bed.

Same as JAYKAY72 - we have a Kaymed memory foam over pocket sprung - they are expensive, but with a mattress that you will spend a large amount of your life on, you're as well spending as much as you can afford. Kaymed started off making beds for specialised hospital use, they know their stuff.

Archers sleep centre sell them.

The expensive bit does put me off a tad but I know how important it is otherwise I may as well stick with what I've got!! Will look at this too hun, thanks xx

Just realised Tesco Direct are doing double points when spending with them. Can some one point me in the right direction on there between £200-£350 ish which is the best please.....just for an idea. I don't understand all the bloody words!! I put in 'memory' but there are loads of different types!!

It depends on your back really. I would suggest air pocket sprung mattress that is therapedic. This is what I have and I like it, but your mileage may vary. Therapedic mattresses are firmer than the normal btw so you may or may not like it.

I suffer from a bad back too and normally go for a firm mattress. I replaced our mattress a couple of months ago and thought I would give memory foam a go. When it first arrived I was a bit dubious as I thought it would not have enough support however after about a week I got used to it and now I am sleeping like a baby on it and wake up without the aching back. I bought mine on ebay for about £179 for an Ikea size (200x160).

We have a Hypnos pocket sprung mattress. They supply to the Royal Family. It is definately the most comfortable mattress ever. I also have a Hypnos pillow. They are expensive but well worth it for a good nights sleep and no cramp in the morning.

Oooh, thanks op for this thread, I'm looking for a new bed too and some interesting comments here.
Does anyone who has a memory foam (in particular the pocket sprung plus memory foam) mattress find that they get really warm? I have been looking at them but on one of the reviews I read someone said that they get really warm so I'd love to hear what people think.
