The best presents i've received have not been the most expensive, but probably the ones that look the nicest!! So a nightdress that's gift boxed, my favourite face cream that's been wrapped with a ribbon. Just lots of little items that look pretty!!

I've had a lot of nice pressies from my OH - and without any prompting either. One of which was my silver Tiffany chunky charm bracelet. We'd been to NY but didn't have time to look round the store properly as it was closing so he got my sister to get one when she went to NY a few months later and wrapped it for Christmas. Total surprise and I love it, wear it every day.

Another great present was my portable DVD player (10") which is like a picture frame and not a folding one. It's great for watching anywhere as it stands up alone or you can hold it or whatever. I've a ton of box sets to watch which OH doesn't like so its handy for having "me" time to watch what I want without fighting over the remote.

350Z, which in hindsight was a bad move as she is hankering after a Focus RS 500 or a Nissan GTR!!! although she does make me proud when she takes a roundabout sideways.

She will have to settle for kindle and a pr of Vivienne Westwood shoes and handbag this year.

Last year we got married Christmas Eve and next day he took me out to the garage to show me a "special present" he had bought me.................omg I am just wetting myself laughing here..............there was 6 boxes. Inside each box was 9 bottles of Domestos Bleach X)

I am a complete clean freak and LOVE the smell of bleach lol

Well inside one of the boxes was an engagement ring - because we were never actually engaged!!

Lol - you'd probably have been happy with just the bleach anyway then!

My engagement ring was hidden in on of those stacks of little boxes of chocolates you get in a pyramid type thing. 6 boxes and he'd put it in the biggest one at the bottom. Had wondered why he kept telling me to have a chocolate and I kept saying nah - I'll save them for later :D

I'd be impressed that after 12 years you are still trying to impress. Good on you. I have to buy my own pressie, but he wraps it (in a fashion) and gives it back to me. At least it means I get what I want, and only I know how much it really cost! (Yes, it was on sale... no... really it was...)

You're like me - I buy bits and pieces and he wraps it for the kids to give me. Though must admit he still tries to suprise me every year with his presents, bless. And yes, I also buy tons of stuff which were a "bargain", really they were that cheap yes honey.

Apologies, is there an income limit to be able to use this website?
Like everyone else I come on here to find the odd bargain and enjoy the banter just because I have a decent income doesn't mean I dont like good value, I always look for the best deal within my budget, and why not come on here when there are so many savvy members willing to share their bargain finding expertise.

The nicest ones are ones he has actually thought about, he once bought me a whole set of art equipment years ago to encourage me to start up an old childhood hobby, he knew i never got much time to myself as we had young children...it made me take time out whilst indulging in this hobby.

My dream gift now would maybe a weekend away, so that i have something to look forward to and time to relax and enjoy each others company properly.

Material gifts are lovely (im after an ipad this year) but quality time together is a nice gift...if funds are short how about a board game and set a night aside to play it together, or a starter set/subscription for a hobby/pastime you can do together...or put together a pamper kit inc some massage oils and a bottle of wine, and treat her to a pamper and massage.

cheers for the ideas although i'm guessing if i got her a board game i'd be walking funny on xmas day. :)

maybe a pamper/massage day out voucher could be a good one.

thanks

haha the 1st xmas i was with my then BF now hubby, he went to pick my xmas presents, (he is useless at anything like this as never had to bother before) He walked into Ann summers, got me a toy, the assistant managed to blag him into buying the £5 wipes and £6 batteries as he was too embarrased to say no lol.
He walked out straight into Woolworths and bought me a carebear oO

Ever since I just get gift vouchers and my girls take daddys money and get me a small suprise! lol
