and

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3479045/Verbatim-DVD+R-2-4x-Double-Layer-10-Pack/Product.html

what's the difference, i know that one's burning speed is slower...so why is it more expensive??? Thanks.

I had this problem too when I ordered, I just got the cheaper discs and it works fine for backing up Xbox 360 games if that's what you want them for.

It's down to the quality of the dye of the disc.

Soz I keep forgetting the links.
Aone 8X DVD+R Dual Layer Logo Face - 10pk - £4.19
Aone 8X DVD+R Dual Layer Full Face Printable 10pk - £4.29
Not a well known brand, but people who use them say they work on the 360 perfectly.

Solid advice

If you want to take the chance and go through 20 - 25 (or however many there are in pack/tub) before getting one to work if you're lucky enough to get any to write.

If you go for this cheaper policy(quantity)ricoh dye/ cmc/ ritek s04 then make sure you have a few dvd writers to choose from to increase the chances of getting a successful burn / verify / quality scan above 80% and readable in your 360 drive (it is possible but will cost you more money in the long term if none burn and work or you have to back them up again in 4 months time co's they no longer read)

Other wise buy verbatim (quality) MIS 2.4x MKM-001-00 and without going to your link would be the 2nd one you posted (even made in India verbs are better than ricoh/cmc/ritek) proof is out there if you want to be able to read them in months to come without having to write them again.

[Edit] having now copied you link to play - those are the ones you want re-order number 43562 and burnt @ 2.4x max (even if writer says 8x) unless you have a Samsung burner 203b or after then burn them @4x max

i have tried aone discs a lot, they used to work 9 out of 10 times, but now with their new design 1 works out of 10. Thats why im going to use verbs, so the only difference is write speed, if that is the only difference, why is the slower speed more expensive???

The disc's I burn for fun just have null data written to them using ImgBurn's discovery mode so the disc does not hold any data usable for anything other than testing purposes.

I also said that Aone might work but they might not and that to increase chances of actually getting a game working to use verbatim 2.4x

To OP I forgot to mention the difference MKM-001-00 are the first in your post and MKM-003-00 are the 2nd and the difference is the older MKM are 2.4x and newer are 8x also MKM-001-00 are the ones to go for as those will be more compatible with older dvd writers or those writers who do not have that mid code in a write strategy list they hold within their firmware and fall-back to a generic 2.4 strategy to maximise chances of getting a good burn. (2.4x ones are generally better well mine are but I paid £22 for 10 x however many tubs I bought when they first came out and I still have a lot left and some more from when they went down to £18.99 for 10 etc , etc till they got to £10.99 ish (I use these £10.99 for fun as they are not as good as they used to be but still a lot better than most generic rot and cheaper)

ok thanks, so everything about the 1st one is better, it's cheaper, it's faster and is more compatible with older dvd drives, even though i have the latest imac, it's still good to know just in case i need to use them on someone else's computer.

I've used Aone, Infiniti and Verbs.
All work fine for my Xbox. In the past I've mainly used the infiniti's; they offer good value for money at around 60p per disk, but my brother for instance has had trouble with them (unreadable errors on the xbox mainly). Aone's are incredibly cheap, but I noticed the quality of the disk quickly deteriated on several occasions through continual use. Verbs work perfectly, read easier and put less strain on the laser.
My thoughts are this: Infinitis offer the best value for money, but invest in Verbs if you want you laser to last longer as they put less strain on the drive.

Not really the same as you can do nothing with it without the disc
