BMI healthy weight calculator
BMI is good way to check if you're a healthy weight. Use our BMI calculator to check the whole family and find helpful information and advice. BMI is a measure of whether you're a healthy weight for your height.

Don't bother with BMI if you have muscle's. It will only tell you that your overweight. Specifically online calculations. Suprised yanks ain't sued for that.
#9

but u def know ur weight roughly. Either from a doctor or a calculated guess, unless ur enormous?
#14
I have muscular legs from running, muscular shoulders from weight lifting, and toned biceps plus I can also run 2 miles in around 14 minutes with no problem and its telling me im overweight and i could get high blood pressure, and cancer? That cant be right i dont think it's very accurate?

^^^^^this think the whole thing is rubbish, also doesnt work out very well for those that are heavy boned, or those that are light

^^^^this too except when I was pregs but that was the midwife that did that, have never been on a diet either and plan to keep it that way, grew up with a anorexic/bulimic mother, so I dont bother about my weight, I am a healthy curvy size 10 and happy with it who cares what BMI I am
#16
17.6 but I eat loads (over 3000 calories a day), I have a crazy metabolism.
#17
bmi doesnt really tell you how healthy you are, if you had taken arnold schwarzenegger`s BMI when he was mr universe back in the day, then he would have been classed as morbidly obese..... so I wouldnt really get to excited about bmi and its definately not a guide to how healthy you are at all

sickly sweet

we have moved away from bmi in our place. Some of the fittest people we have are obese apparently. Dont think so, they do tri-athlons !!
#22
agreed - bmi is a fairly useless yardstick to measure yourself by...im 26.5 and defo dont intend to lose any weight..im fit and healthy and work out and very happy with my weight.
#23
Boots have one that supposedly measures body fat yet measured me at 4' 7.5"!

Whilst I agree that BMI is not ideal, for those who do no exercise (most of the people I deal with) then it is a good guide to use.

Heavy boned, complete myth it does not exist.

18.0 im a skinny 6f3
#26
17.3
#27
If you put a lot of international rugby players stats into this then they would be morbidly obese. It's only a very, vey rough guide at best.
#28
oopsie 16.1 for me, puts me in the red, been trying to no avail to put on weight since had my little ones 6 yrs ago and just cant manage to budge it. docs even had me eating 7 times a day and it did no good. sometimes i just think you are the size you are & i'm never going to be a nice health 20bmi.
#29
Too high :( I think it laughed at me a little bit.
#30
BMI is rubbish anyway it's not accurate and doesn't differentiate between body fat or muscle mass also doesn't take age into account.

It is a load of crap to be fair, as above, it doesnt take other factors into account.

I'm 6ft & 16.5st - making my BMI 31.3 - Obese according to the BMI scale. It doesnt take into account I go the gym & lift weights 5 times a week though..........
