I remember one Christmas my brother and I got new dressing gowns and at bedtime our parents said to race to be the first back downstairs in our PJ's. As we ran back to the lounge I or my brother trod on the bottom of his new 'probably too long' dressing gown and he flew hand first through the glass door. He had to be rushed to A&E and still has the scar across his hand.
Anyone that says they remember going for a weekend away in their Dad and coming back in their Mum is out of order!

 i remember a day at nursery where a boy picked up a huge soft block thing that you built a bridge with and hit me on the top of my head and made my nose bleed :w00t: and my older brother beating him up for it

I've always struggled with specific childhood memories. Mine are probably from ages 3-4 or 5 when in nursery etc.

I think as you get older you remember more - things you see or hear can sometimes trigger a memory.

My earliest memory is of travelling on a bus with wooden seats with my mum and nan (buses built during WW2 didn't have upholstered seating and it was a good few years after the end of the war before the bus companies got around to putting in upholstery!) . I was probably about 3 at the time.

I remember being about 6 months old maybe? I was laying on the floor kicking and screaming beside my parents old sofa and my mother came along and picked me up and rested my head on her shoulder. I remember the touch of her long hair and its smell... I still love the smell of long hair! :)

lol!

My eldest stuck crayons up his nose so high that we could barely see the colour of the wax. The nurse at the hospital managed to manoevere it down and out, along with several millilitres of ukky snotty stuff. He was about 5 at the time. He also managed to get an elastic band so deep into his ear the doctor couldnt even reach it with tweezers and he had to have a general anasthetic to have it surgically removed!!

My next one got a fountain pen stuck *through* her tongue one day at school.. she was about 12!!

The next had a bead up her nose when she was about 10. She said she was cradlng her hair bobble in her hand and sniffed and ..OOPs. We went to three hospitals. None of them would risk touching her in case it went further up into her brain. We were even told by a nurse " I could get that out in an instant... but we arent covered under the insurance" !!! Eventually a doctor prised it out with a machine that suctioned it down.

My three year old drank a bottle of cough mixture a four year old friend of his gave him. We were in hospital all night waiting to see if it would effect his heart. Fortunately he must have spilt most of it.

Arent kids great??? :)

It's amazing we arent known personally at our local hospital.

I was 2 and my mum took me to my new pre-school. I remember going in the doors and turning right towards a room where there was at least 1 maybe 2 easels. I remember painting at that easel on my first day. I also seem to recall another room off where I did some cooking but can't remember more than that.

I think I was 3 or 4, I was stood at the bottom of the garden on a compost heap. The girl from the other side came over and started talking to me but I couldn't understand her and she looked strange. I think she had Down's syndrome. She really stuck in my mind.

When I was 5 at primary school, I saw a girl who I thought was really pretty, I kissed her on the cheek and then she ran to a caretaker who came and told me off. I didn't kiss another girl until I was 17

Showing my age but earliest memory........

Looking out of a window, then the sash broke, the window did not hit my neck but I could not get out. I remember the firemen had to come and get me out and lots of grease was used.

Never realised until I was a lot older, what a close call that was..........how did we ever survive in those days!

Me and my brother walked across an ice lake when we were about 8/9 at my Mum's work. Only realised couple of years ago how it could have ended so badly ;-)
