I second that! Only film I've ever screamed at and I watch a LOT of horrors!! Personally I love the Saw films because they're not "mindless"... they're very clever!

the shining, the exorcist, dawn of the dead/night of living dead, american werewolf in london and even alien rate higher than the ring imo ......the original jap version ringu was much better depends what horror you like tho hollywood did a good job for a change

Haven't seen a decent horror film for a long time :-(
Still got fond memories of stuff I managed to catch on the big screen at festivals such as Suspiria,Halloween,City Of The Living Dead,The Thing etc.
But my two favourite horror movies are Jacobs Ladder and Requiem For A Dream...and no-one can tell me they aren't horror movies.

any one seen that paranormal activity yet?
just wanna know what its like

I watch loads of horrors as its my fav genre but its all too samey samey nothing makes you jump or gives you the fear these days :(

i liked to be scared stiff

went to see that at the piccies - thought it was going to be crap but it scared the crap our of me! Brilliant film.

I'm not one for gore for the sake of it - can't be arsed with saw etc etc but I like a decent scary film when I can find one.

Are they really your favourites or are you just throwing out slightly obscure ones to appear 'in the know'?

I'll go for Suspiria.

the opening scenes in saw 5 i was flickering my eyelashes so i couldnt see it properly... lol

They were the two which made me feel the most repulsed, this is what a horror film should do.

Most of the horrors posted here are from the last 10 years, which ties in with the age group of this site.

The two I posted were very big in the 80's. Salo more into the 90's due to it's rarity.

i'm not sure i want a horror film to repulse me....

I want it to make my heart beat faster.... I want it to entertain me and stretch me. I want to feel shock and suspense and even fear... but repulsion is prolly where i draw the line. But then I dont feel repulsed by any horror film I've seen yet.

When I saw the first Saw film in the pics years ago; I came out with a sore back with the fear... I'm soo squeemish!! my fiance thought it was funny as hell...

When I was younger IT used to scare the bejesus out of me, as did nightmare on elm street and evil dead lol... Only thing is you watch them again nowadays and they are disappointing and you wonder why you were scared half to death lol

Most horror film are more violent torture then scary... but I was scared as hell when I saw the ring for the first time!! :w00t:
#33
The beast with five fingers
#34
I remember the 2 that frightened me the most were ones i watched when I was younger, Basket Case and Its Alive
#35
Shaun of the Dead - its good and to think it all started from Spaced with cheap speed and resident evil, lol.
#36
:D anyone else ?
#37
Evil Dead 2 - Hail To The King Baby !
#38
When I was 13 and I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre just the last like 20 - 30mins really had me freaking out I think it was the whole mental torture they put her through and then getting chased by a maniac with a chainsaw lol.

More recent ones I liked Descent, Drag me to Hell I think as more a comedy like Evil Dead 2 you can see Sam Raimi still has the same sense of humor and Dead Snow was worth a watch too.
