I doubt you'll be able to cash in both.. you know what you have to do!

Call em and tell em you're cashing one and returning the other x x
#2
play dumb cash them both the worst that can happen is they ask for it back, just don't spend the money from one just in case
#3
yes, yes , yes. they are too busy to know.

how much are you talking about?

each cheque is for roughly £1,100
#7
cash them in and wait a few weeks to see if you hear anything back.
#8
call and tell them they can find the mistake months from now and get you to pay it back
#9
If you bank both, knowing that you shouldn't, you are committing fraud and you could end up in serious trouble.
Be very careful !!
#10
just keep it in a savings account
#11
Cash Them In!
#12
bank them both, but be prepared tp give one amount back! And expect them, if they do realise to take ages to ask for it back. tell them a police man said you can do it if they ask!
#13
Just be aware I knew a lad who did a similar thing with a larger amount of money, when he was found out he offered to pay the money back plus interest but the company refused, prosecuted him and he went to prison.
#14

There's more to the story than that.

be interested in how you came about this.. was it protection on a loan.. you see, I was made to take out protection on my current loan, then lost my job 8 days before the payment kicked in (60th day)..

I said I didnt want protection as it was useless to me, but unless I took it, I would've have got the loan... mis-sold surely?

Funny enough, the cheque is a refund for payment protection on a loan, they sent a letter saying that they may have mis-sold me the payment protection and i could cancel it and they'd refund what ive paid.

Hi,
Just wondering is the company the Aliance and Leicester? I have had some paperwork through saying I may be able to reclaim the cost of the protection on my loan but I have to let them know if I feel I was mis-sold the plan and give a reason why. Apparently the protection plan was a bit dodgy for some reason but I dont know why.

Why would you get it squashed though? I can't even see why you'd get your PPI returned let alone the whole loan.

To the Aliance Leicester, who have sent me the letter explaining I may have been mis-sold the plan. They did tell me at the time I applied for the loan that I had a better chance of getting it if I took out the protection.

because I was mis-sold.. forced to take something I never wanted.

that's what i told em. just call the number on the letter they sent you and tell them. We didn't have a problem at all, told the lady no longer wanted the protection and was forced to take it out to agree the loan when taken out. they can't prove the person who sold the loan to you didn't do that so you should get your money back like me or maybe you'll get double back like me....

How about cashing in both, spending one on anything you like and with the other, either:

1, Go to an online casino and play red / black double or nothing,

2, buy 11100 scratch cards

3, give the £1,100 to a charity! and see if they ask for it back!

Or just stick it in an isa.
