Sell it, that's what reserve prices are for............
#2
linkage?
#3
get negged if you def 100% it could get nearer the £100 mark

If others sell for pennies on Ebay then I think its not holding its value as much in the 2nd hand world
#4
Do you seriously need to ask this? Why did you not just set a reserve?
#5
what was it
#6
Just admit you made a mistake and can't sell it for that. They are probably expecting you to anyway if it is such a bargain.

sell at agreed price as per contract

hate people who pull out of auctions cos they dont get what they expected. Its just low.

+1, Its users like this that make ebay so rubbish!

Another for my don't deal with list.
#9
Do you mind saying what it was so that we can get an idea how cheap they got it for?
#10
Bet you wish you didn't try and avoid listing fees now :)

We all do it though :p You live and learn

Just fill in the form that says the item is broken or whatever it is.

It was a stainless steel sink - rrp was over £100 but it went for 99p (shockingly). This is collection but buyer has not got in touch yet. I have 100% feedback so don't want to risk getting a neg.
Yes listing was free :p My mistake for not putting reserve.

I'm just going to stay quiet until buyer gets in touch.
#14
Cant understand why you have started the bid as low as 99p :w00t:, you should always set the first bid to the lowest price you are willing to let the item go for OR as someone else said , set a reserve price
#15
if it is really worth £100 then don't sell of course

a neg is nothing on there these days

ebay not really the place for a sink sale

It's a sink on ebay, not really going to sell, you ain't really been done. Just should of got £30 out of it :-D
[mod]#17
Sell it.
#18
Problem with collection only things is it will only go for the price someone local is willing to pay, and if no competition it will only get 1 bid. you would of needed at least 2 needing a sink local, unfortunatly not the best timing to list then.

Its a hard one on what to do, RRP you never really get the RRP when its on collection only. If it was with a courier service you may of got more interest.

It was to save fees and also a 99p listing should have been more attractive to bid on then if I had started at £50. In this case, this theory flopped.

i see what you mean! but as someone said that theory only works if you have got at least two people in your area looking on ebay for a sink and can outbid each other! Never mind op we live and learn

The value of an item is what people will pay for it, so as no-one else wanted it and it went for 99p it was only worth 99p.

I got brand new sink and taps last week gratis from freecycle, the current selling price is £55 and £38 respectively at the DIY shed they came from.

How many feedback is the 100% spread over? It may not knock your 100% too badly.

Personally I'd take it on the chin and let the buyer have it, learn from your mistake.
#23
so you done collection only, they won it for 99p, now they have your addreess...........

so just sit back and wait for them to knock on the door, oh what a shock they gonna have or you gonna have!!
#24
I once bought £200 worth of retro consoles for 99p - Lets just say I never expected to receive it and I never did, seller never contacted me and I accepted it 100% because if it was me selling it and the highest bid was 99p there is NO WAY I would sell it, and sure come round my house, you still aint going to get it etc.

Do not sell it, people on here are idiots for saying that.

Just say it's sold or make something up or just send him a message saying "Sorry I made a mistake on the reserve, I thought it was £99 but for some reason it reserved for 99p, we could come to an agreement and then if it's high enough I will sell it to you".

If someone sent that to me, I'd accept it.

Some people are idiots for saying don't honor a legal transaction

Hi, can I have £100?

Thanks

People make mistakes like the OP, if it was worth £20 and it sold for 99p then I would say sure send it or let them pick it up, but it's over £100, don't be so stupid.
#26
I'd say it was listed and sold elsewhere, but if you do that don't ever list it on Ebay again.Try Loot or somewhere like that.

Make sure you add the buyer to your blocked list incase he gets angry and bids on other stuff at a later date and doesn't pay you etc.
#27

You'd accept that :? after saying other people are idiots :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Yes I would, £100 is a lot of money to anyone, and just because I call people idiots doesn't mean I'm not a nice person. :p

wheres the legal transaction?

ebay bids arnt legally binding
#29
the moral thing to do is sell it at the price i always started my auctions at a penny but put a reserve on items that are worth a few bob (don't use ebay anymore)

i would try telling buyer that it is no longer available and refund their money + 100% free on top

learn from the mistake and make sure theres a reserve next time
#30
ummm...funnily enough I won a sink on ebay for 99p.

...you are getting neg!

spot on! I would just go around and pick it up and have it out if they refused. They have OPs address.

And that is the mentality that makes eBay rubbish.

this is why exactly why ebay has become a nightmare, users taking the proverbial like not fulfilling their transactions so ebay in response to the criticism bring out ham fisted rules.

and nice to see posters advocating lying to the buyer. I wonder if their response would've been similar if the buyer of the sink had posted the op had mysteriously told them the sink was broken just before collection.

excuse me im just stating a fact i was a powerseller at 1 time on ebay got fed up with non payers and hassle of getting fees back for listing so stopped

im just stating the buyer is under no legal obligation to buy and seller has no legal obligation to sell FACT

If a seller did this to me, I'd probably just go round their house and smash their stupid face in. Then take the item.

agreed, and there are a hell of a lot of dodgy people that frequent these forums, advocating fraud and deception and just general liars........

this country has gone to the dogs big time

This thread is a joke.

Just say it's sold, end of. If they come round your house and start a problem, call the police, or you have the right to defend yourself in your own home if they get off their high horse.
