You could go to the tate, it's free to get in and you don't need to be with anyone! I keep intending to go to my local art gallery... doesn't happen though.

iv done that one, prob most museums infact.. i found the tate quite disappointing. All this moderny stuff that wasnt really art .. they had this pole from the roof to the floor, with several soaps through it.. and that was a feature. :S! !

sounds weird lol, is there any type of carnival / festival on? You could (if you have a camera) go somewhere like covent garden or camden and take photos... I used to do that! :)
um, i'm not too sure what else to suggest lol..

go round and round and round the central line?! :-D

london's fab that way ... so much to do that we all need a holiday break to calm down lol. then when we're on holiday, there's an itch to get back to do stuff.

Are you wanting to go out or stay in? Do you own a bicycle? When I feel like that, I usually just go for a ride on my bike. If I'm in the mood, I load some songs I want to hear on to my wee mp3 player and off I go, sorted. If you're staying in, maybe set up a blog or a web page on something that you're interested in. Loads of free links online. Or read up on something that you would like to do...could be anything from going to a yoga retreat over New Year, to taking 3 month's off and going somewhere and learning Spanish. Anything that get's your juices flowing. No matter what, don't beat yourself up about not doing anything. The best thing you can do is just be in the moment and appreciate and love all that you are. Everything else is just fluff for the blind

awww poor you. it gets worse in the winter, i was homesick after 3 months in uni. i know pretty rubbish lol, but now i enjoy the freedom and independence. London can get lonely sometimes but hey, it's worth it all. seriously you'll make new friends.

no i dont own a bike, its weird as i look forward to weekends as im free from work but the past few weeks as soon as it as its saturday im like a lost dog. I really think it because iv moved away from family + friends, Im rubbish at doing things alone to! i just end up calling someone to talk to if i go anywhere.! tut.

your very nice rehydrated, such a nice message :)

It's important to get out - if you just stay at home and phone your old friends it will make you feel lonlier. It's a lovely day today and you're in the most exciting city in the world. Walk along the South Bank from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and if you've still got energy walk back on the North Bank. Loads of people in London do things on their own, I used to live in Yorkshire and only real saddos would go to the cinema on their own, here it's normal. I predict in another few months you wont be able to believe you felt like this. All the best!
PS look at Time Out's website for other ideas.
PPS if you didn't like the art in Tate Modern, try Tate Britain.

TY Mad. I think most of us can relate to how you feel,I know I can. How far away are your family + friends? Maybe you could go up once a month, or get them to come down...I bet there are loads of people who graft hard all week and then when the weekend comes they just veg out in front of the telly. This is "normal behaviour" whatever that is! so it is cool just to tidy up and sort out the flat, washing, shopping etc. and look forward to a chinese or an Indian and XFACTOR on a Saturday night :-D Sometimes I think we feel restless inside because there is something else that we should be doing,so you should try and take some time out for yourself and find out what this is...It might be something that you have always wanted to do since you were young, or it might just be something that your spiritual, mental or physical self is lacking in. I don't know if you would like it, but there are sites like www.plentyoffish.com and gumtree that you can check for others in your area maybe wanting to just meet up and do something so they are not on their own. It doesn't need to be sexual or sleezy as I know there are loads of people in the same position. Clubs, local gym, swimming pool, just pick something that you like and it will be a lot easier rather than forcing yourself to do something. If all else fails, put on your favourite music loud and dance until you feel better :prop:

sorry! i didnt realize you had replyd. im useless at keeping track on this site. They are 250 miles away. not a lot to some but too far to visit often. Plus i hav a 6 yr old sister whom i miss.

I dont think id trust meeting anyone from a website enough. plus imagine introducing them as someone you met from blahblah.com!

Anyway i go home this friday :D:D hopefully ill come back on here in a better mood!
