What should the consequences of Adebayors actions be after today?

This is after Ade intentionally stamped on Van Persie, literally a couple CMs away from his eye before he scored the goal that sealed the result and ran the full length of the pitch to taunt the Arsenal fans.

Obviously the whole game would of been different had he been sent off for his disgraceful behaviour that would be considered as GBH had it been off the football pitch but what do you think?

COMMENTS FROM TEAMTALK:

Although neither manager said they saw the second-half incident when it happened during City's 4-2 win over the Gunners on Saturday, TV replays did not make pleasant viewing for Adebayor.

With Van Persie on the ground, Adebayor certainly appeared to make a lunging movement as he tried to regain his balance, with the Dutchman sustaining a cut to the side of his head that required treatment.

Referee Mark Clattenburg did not appear to get a clear view either given the fact he waved play on, only calling for treatment when Van Persie failed to get back to his feet.

It was anticipated the Football Association would act anyway but, if there was any doubt over their involvement, there is none now after Van Persie launched a bitter attack on the Togo forward.

"I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me," said Van Persie.

"He set out to hurt me and I feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made.

"He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful."

Believe me...I'd love to....but he's almost a foot taller than me, so I'd have to knock him down first. :whistling:

They didn't show the stamping incident on MOTD - it can't have been that bad surely or they would have shown it

Yes they did:?

Probably worth a couple of games ban.

No way....checkout how he moved his foot before bringing it down...you can clearly see it was intentional and was a lash out in response to Van Ps lunge.

That should of been a straight red, which changed the entire game, since it was 1-1....if Eduardo gets a 2 match ban for diving when it clearly looked like Boruc was about to make contact, then there's no way this should be any less.

Didn't like the stamping bit but did find the running to the other side of the pitch worth watching :w00t:

How comes you enjoyed that? lol

The stamping, it was intentional but who know what went on behind the scenes to provoke that

He was a hero to Arsenal fans not that long ago

He was a hero until he showed he doesn't understand the meaning of loyalty...as soon as he heard Milan and Barca was linked with him, he was desperate to leave...is that any way to treat the fans that sing out your name every game?

He used to tell my brother that he was so grateful to Arsene for everything he's ever done and that he can never repay him for being a great mentor and for making him what he is and he still remembers playing football in bare feet only a few short years prior to that.

Don't forget that after his links, he demanded to be on "Thierry Henry wages" to keep him happy and that's after a one off great season, whereas Henry was consistant for several years.

He's signed 4 contracts in 3 and half years....says it all really. :whistling:

I'd never be a sellout though....even when I was making £2000 profit per week, I never forgot who I am and was a nice person. :)

The simple things in life are the most important and I would do anything for love.....I really need to stop singing tunes about love tonight.

I probably wouldn't for £2000 profit, but if you missed a zero and it was supposed to say £20,000 id well sell arsenal out haha

Having seen it a few times, I'd say that's the minimum.

It was an ugly challenge. I can understand the ref missing it as at full speed it looked quite innocuous.........but at different angles and slow motion you can see he delibrately stamped.

Thing is the FA are always lenient and i can't see them giving more than 3 games.

Well, considering it was an intentional stamp in his face, I think it should be a lot harsher....and this is just before he goes mad to intentionally incense the Arsenal fans even more.

I think he's forgotten that, he was the one that decided to turn his back on Arsenal and went on like he was too good for Arsenal.

I think he should get done for GBH on top of his ban. :whistling:
