Very ugly site indeed!

Very professional, I have no doubt they have paid someone a lot of money to do that as well.

On a side note looks very cheap, and tacky. Not what any business should be aiming for really.

I can see what they have tried to do by taking the retro, indie look....its not the best looking website not the ugliest either.

Seems nowadays that uncool is the new cool and that is what the site is trying to achieve!

About the only thing they have achieved, is making the site look cluttered, and making it hard to navigate.

Yeah I think you are right, but I just think they're completely missing "it".

"it" is very hard to define.... but its not got it, it just looks a utter mess, rather than the messy cool they (we can only assume) were aiming for!

yes im not disagreeing with you.....it does have a very cluttered look that doesnt help consumers but the design is very quirky, it seems a lot of companies seem to do this kind of thing with the language they use and in their design (Innocent Smoothies being a good example).

I agree though it isnt very good for something fairly technical like broadband and does look unprofessional but i work within the broadband industry and wouldnt say that 'be' are a company that look for business from older people, a lot of people that use 'be' are the younger people who know a bit about broadband and like the indy web style and dont need the website to tell them what is a good product or not, the reviews of their broadband get them the business they need.

I accept all of that - and the Be service is exceptionally good, just there new website isn't :)

yeah know what you mean the 'it' look gives off a cool impression and the idea that no effort went in and still looks good.....this just looks like theyve tried too hard to make it look simple and therefor completely missed the point.

Would still love to have their service though but they dont have their equipment in any of my local exchanges.

Yes, that’s right, we’ve got a new look and feel. Check it out at www.bethere.co.uk and give us your feedback via the forum (details below).

What and why?

When BE launched in September 2005 the idea was to revolutionise the UK broadband market. We certainly did that and in the process many like minded people joined us in that revolution.

Since then we have seen the dawn of Web 2.0 and Social Media, and to be frank we haven’t done much about it. In particular the one area that hasn’t changed much has been our website, so we’ve taken the liberty to make it much better.

We’ve involved some of you in this change and have created a straight forward identity that over time will evolve, change and adapt with input from all sorts of people (and machines).

BE wants to get out of the way and give you the opportunity to carry on with creating the new, continue defining the internet. So from now on it’s for both of us to “create the new” across the web.

You may see some minor updates to our t’s and c’s, but don’t worry we’ll be sending another email with details of the changes soon.

More stuff to do

Check out our new website and sign in to your account using your existing details. It’s packed with tons more stuff. We’ve even created new ways for you to contact us such as live chatting with call centre agents and we’ve now got a pretty cool ‘Got a Question’ function to help you solve some of your day to day broadband queries.

Just to let you know, we’ve been so busy with the website that some of our emails are still the old brand, they’ll all be done soonish but in the meantime please bear with the retro pink asterisk.

We really hope you enjoy, but we also know it’s not perfect and would love to get your comments, so if you have anything you’d like to raise please go to the Forum, Be Discussion, New Brand Comments.

Thanks

Everyone @ BE

P.S. We’ve not designed this to work fantastically in IE6 because it’s really old and… well, we’re all about the future. So, if you’re on IE6 please upgrade to IE7 or IE8 or even Firefox. Sorry if you’re stuck with IE6.

Looks bloody hideous, the money they've spent they could have unbundled a few exchanges, what a waste.

Anyone wanting to get their Be monthly fee reduced should see here

Looks like something designed on an old sinclair spectrum

it does look a bit of a mess but you can customise it by drag and dropping the boxes where you want them or close them if you dont want to see them
