Plenty to do, I go every year to Sharm, but just scoot up the road to Dahab where its much quieter with very few Brits, havent spoken to a Brit in 4 years over there. The entire contents of the plane apart from me and the wife are going to Sharm so am sure they are well catered for Brits.

I always go to Dahab...get away from the all-inclusive crowd and go diving or snorkelling

When I have been there there have been buses coming in most days, not sure if you are tight for cash but it may be worth spending a couple of days up there just to get away from the touristy stuff.
They have a lot of excursions out to other snokelling/diving places and things like the oasis, mountain sunsets, etc
I know when we first went, I was sat on the plane looking around at the people going and was so glad to see them going to Sharm and we were off elsewhere, I am no snob, I was brought up on a council estate but spending ten days surrounding be people who had been in the bar at 06.30 eating a fry up and drinking lagers was not inviting...have a good one!

I heard that they got strange look triangle things in the desert which are meant to be pretty cool.

If you dive do the Thistlegorm wreck for an amazing experience, if you don't why not do your Open Water course? Sharm is really safe apart from the shopkeepers hassling you but just ignore and smile at them; after all they are only trying to do their job. Security is very high everywhere and you do feel safe. Beware eating in the outdoor restaurants that spray water vapour over everyone to keep them cool (it was 45 C when we were there 2 weeks ago) The water gets onto the food and you WILL get upset stomachs. Try the Dananeer restaurant if you want a superb cheap meal.

hard rock cafe is really nice!! when a specific song comes on all the staff start dancing to it! and food is delicious!

you can go see the dolphin show, that was amazing. at the end the they call females to the pool area and the dolphins come and kiss you.

theres a lot of snokerlling and diving stuff

quad biking, go see old sharm, glass boat. also go to cairo day trip and see the pyramids. i think if you go egypt you have to go see one of the seven wonders of the world.

don't eat in the restaurant above mcdonalds, its disgusting, ew!

^^^^ You should do all that, There is a lot to do in Sharm, it is the Las Vegas of Egypt.

Kulsum are you talking about the mughul mahal? My parents were very brave and went and ate there and the food wasn't that bad but it wasn't good. It was edible though you probably will be on the toilet seat throughout your holiday if you eat there more than once.

They have no health and safety over in Egypt, everyone on the road is very suicidal, they drive like lunatics!!!!

Oh thanks guys, Oh I definately would love to see dolphins!I am worried it is cruel though?I hope they look after them. I saw a show in Spain where 2 children sat in a boat and the dolphin started pulling them and I started crying LOL.

It's true no Health and Safety, but I rarely see crashes (compared to the UK).

The only thing is when you do see a crash, it's insane i.e. a truck load of people all killed

Where we live, it was quite crazy last time, the day we got there we went to the normal shop to get all the food, the guy that served us was killed about an hour later outside our house (his tyre burst and he went straight into a post). Then the next day I was sitting on the balcony and witnessing someone getting run over and killed is not nice.

If you think crossing a busy road here is bad, you aint seen **** lol.

(Above post sounds ironic, but with a few years there, I witness more here on a few trips to London than all the time I've been here)

Malia was horrific with all the quad bikes doing wheel spins. Saw one girl get run over by a motorbike cause she was so off her face and her friends just left her

I'm off to Sharm on Monday. :D

I've booked a few trips online through Sharm Club. You pay £5 per person deposit by Paypal for each trip and pay the balance when you arrive in Egypt. Has some very good reviews on Tripadvisor.
The trips look pretty good value for money. I've booked the stargazing, Mount Sinai and Pyramid trips.

i've been to sharm and more recently a nile cruise from luxor to aswan. i would never go back to sharm after having gone on the cruise as it was so amazing and feels like you have actually been to egypt rather than just a hotter version of blackpool lol

Been told yesterday by a friend that we need to be immunised against Malaria and Hep A. Is this right? My boyf mother told me your a nurse, you should know. I said well I dont specialise in tropical diseases!
#26
Yes i think shes right. Contact your GP ASAP as some need to be in your system a while to take effect or need a booster after a few weeks to get full immunisation.

I had my jabs last week. Hep A, Polio, Tetanus, Diptheria and Typhoid. If you've had them before you may just need a booster. You won't need anything for Malaria if you stay in Sharm.
