I'm trying to decide what's best to do with my car, it's a '99 Peugeot 106 that I haven't used in about a year as use a different car when I need to.

Well battery will be flat as a pancake and don't even know if it'll start once charged. But body work and that are in great condition. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I could do with it as its just really taking up space. Not sure about how to go about scraping etc

Cheers

Just really wanting rid, if I can get money for it then good but not got a clue to what its worth as don't know if it'll start

charge up the battery and see if it starts. If it does, stick it in autotrader for a couple of hundred quid and see if it sells, there'll be loads of people looking for small, cheap cars at the moment. If not, go to your local scrappy and have a chat, you'll not get much for it (if anything) but they'll take it away and dispose of it properly.

Shame you dont live in the midlands! Otherwise would have taken it off you! Need a small car for the Mrs!

Why dont you just put it on ebay! Some will buy it of you!

jump the battery and get it started, if its only been stood around then it should start easily, then go to a local dealer who buys cars for cash
#6
why dont you try charging the battery first and see if it starts? if not then maybe replace the battery. Obviously if its running and in decent condition you should be able to sell.
Take a look at auto trader to see what other people are selling the same make and reg for

I might give charging it a go to see if it stills works, but I'm just really busy at the moment so was just looking to get rid of it as quickly and with as little effort on my part as possible lol

But jumping won't work cos its been sitting about so long the battery is completely dead

might be worth putting it in for an mot. might be worth about 900 - 1000 quid with an mot

The brakes will likely be seized if stood for a year, not usually a big job, a tap in the right place with a hammer may sort that, oil change would be adviseable, no great expense needs spending but it is a saleable car and should sell easy enough.

ill buy and pick up? - as long as it starts with a jump

You will get a fair amount for it. Do you have a friend who is handy with cars who could perhaps take a look at it? They can advise you what would be wrong with it (as it has been sat their for so long), get the problems sorted, then one day when you have a couple of hours free take it for a long drive and then sell it on in your local paper.

I can try jump it but it'll be over a week before I can do it as I'm heading on hols in couple of days.

Might just take an extra day off when get back from hols and have a play with it to see if I can get it back up and running then. Wasn't really wanting to mess about with it but suppose it can be a wee project for me

I won't be able to help there then as I'll won't be back for a week or so to have a look at mine

Buy some jump leads and it'll take about five mins and your car should be running again, or if you've got RAC or AA if you don't mind loosing one of your call out's give them a call and they'll have a look at it for you.

Prob best to place a free add in the local paper or the auto trader, you'll prob find alot of people wanting a cheap run around considering everyone's money is tight at the moment.
