i like the bit with liquid nitrogen - just get them out when you want to go shopping/kill a spider/decorate/earn the money etc etc etc

Scientists claim sperm 'first'
Scientists in Newcastle claim to have created human sperm in the laboratory in what they say is a world first.

The researchers believe the work could eventually help men with fertility problems to conceive.

But other experts say they are not convinced that fully developed sperm have been created.

Writing in the journal Stem Cells and Development, the Newcastle team say it will be at least five years before the technique is perfected.

They began with stem cell lines derived from human embryos donated following IVF treatment.

The stem cells had been removed when the embryo was a few days old and were stored in tanks of liquid nitrogen.

If they can grow everything in a lab, then eventually there will be need for any of us to be here, then there wont be anyone around to grown anything in a lab.

I am probs being thick or missing something, but the sperm still came from somewhere - they weren't made from nothing were they?

If the stem cells were taken from an embryo, then the sperm that fertilised the egg had to come from someone, so wouldn't that guy be the biological father of any babies produced using this sperm from the stem cells :?:?

So my point is, isn't this like using a sperm doner?

That's pretty much the whole point of the breakthrough:
Scientists in Newcastle claim to have created human sperm in the laboratory in what they say is a world first.

And this is why women will forever need men. Who else is going to explain things to them?

Aah, but how did they CREATE the sperm? By growing them from stem cells taken from an already fertilized egg!!! :-D
