What were you offered after cancelling Sky?

I canceled our Sky TV today. I didn't mean to I was playing the old game of trying to get an offer out of them. They offered me 25% off for 12 months. I maybe should have taken it but instead tried holding out for 50% off, as that's what we've been on for the last 18 months, but they wouldn't budge and in the heat of the moment the cancellation ended up going through.

I'm now living in the dog house at home because "I'm the evil one who canceled the Sky". They all want me to get it reinstated immediately but, considering the amount of people on here who seem to have been offered deals post cancellation, I'm thinking of sitting it out for a bit and seeing what happens first.

I would especially like to know from people who've received mailshot or telephone offers from Sky. How long did it take after your channels went off for them to get back in touch and what were you offered?

Conversely is there anyone who might have cancelled their subscription in the last couple of years but hasn't been sent any offers from Sky yet? Regardless of whether you wanted them or not.

Finally is there anyone who has been on three or more consecutive 50% off deals? We've been on two already so just wondering if this affected their decision on what we could be given or does it just depend on who you speak to?

From what i've read previously you should now be due a letter offering 50% off.
#2
I cancelled my subscription in January and Sky keep sending me the 50% off for 12 months deal. The latest 50% code they sent me is SkyD if you want to call them up and see if it'll work for you.
#3
1st time absolutely nothing

2nd time 50% for 6 months no tie in (only on 6 entertainment package though)

Just about to cancel again as the 6 months is up will wait and see not fussed to be honest though i stream or download most things now so could easily do without it. Would save the licence fee as well.

Absolute nothing for us:(
We pushed and pushed ..nothing
This is like that 3 years now...I wonder why????? Hopefully a letter will come to make this endless cold months ahead more bareable.

We were offered the 25% and we said we'd rather go with the new BT thingy when it's out.

The offer is valid till 8th September (I only received the letter today). The number to ring is 08442 411 361.

I can't be bothered reading the entire thread so someone may have already advised you of this.
Ask your partner to call sky with the code windhoek #2 has given and start a new contract asap as she/he will be a new subscriber. Tell them you already have a dish. You will get a new box and a new 12 month contract. Sell your old box and get some money back. You should be laughing ..

alternatively, let your family suffer and show them whose boss!!! :)

Ah right we had to give them 31 days notice so won't be able to get this one but it certainly bodes well if they've got current deals running at the moment at least. Was that for all packages?

Yes all packages. The offer excludes the HD pack price of £10.25 per month, but other than that, it covers all the channels.

How did you get that?

I only had 3 weeks left in my contract so I rang them up and got offered that deal.I was paying £50 a month before.

I pay £80 a month (on average) so I think another call is in order (we are out of contract).

Thanks for the info - I might try using the other half to get a new contract in her name.

Does anyone know how the new entertainment pack split will affect current subscribers with 2/3 entertainment pack add ons?
#17
They usually give you a call, but I would just ring them up in a week or so and say you will take the 25% if you dont want to lose sky.

If I mentioned I got 2 new HD boxes with a half price "all channels inc sports and movies", in HD and HD multroom "worth" £72.50 per month for £30.75 per month for 12 months, it might be considered boasting. Fortunately I'd never do that, so I wont be mentioning that fact.

Oh... and the multiroom card, is now sending all HD channels around the house... so a 5 room multi package... oops that sounds like boasting.... sorry! X)

Im a very good negotiator and dont let openings given slip.

I basically cancelled..... and was offered 6 months 1/2 price so declined. Then on the day it was supposed to be switched off, I had a call offering 12 months. I said I wanted HD and multi room and he said someone would call back, That didnt happen... so I used the first back door and emailed their executive complaints....... I got a call within 2 hours. He ummed and Ah'd and refused to move on anything more than standard half price (ie full price for multi HD and HD)...He was supposed to ring me to confirm... but guess what.... he didnt. So I used my final ace - another exec office email. An hour later the guy I spoke to would have given me a nosh if Id asked him!

I'd just come off 12 months of full HD for £26pm... so an extra £4.75 for the extra £30 worth was quite good and agreed to his kind offer.

I got an email about a month after I left.
I got 12 months half price as well as $100 credit.
This is my second time on half price.

I just called and said I love the service but unfortunately cant afford to pay anymore than I am doing. They said they could only do 6 months. So i agreed thinking this was with HD as well.
But they took HD off, I wasn't happy so phoned and cancelled. Then got an email with a code in about a month after.
