What would and wouldn't you be willing to do for your current neighbours?

I was just thinking that people aren't as neighbourly as they once used to be in this day and age but what would you consider are your neighbourly duties?

What would you be willing to do for your current neighbours and what do you consider as going too far?

I'd be very willing to herd all my neighbours kids up and cart them of somewhere soundproofed, Im kind like that
#2
I would help mine move and the rabble the next door up. The bloke next door never speaks and the rabble next to him play their music all night and day as they dont work. Id glady pay and move both off them together.!

Would be willing to do:

Help them move.

Wouldn't be willing to do:

Urinate on them if they were ablaze.

I cant stand the neighbours on one side so wouldnt do a damn thing for them. But the old couple the other side are lovely. I have baked cakes and bread for them and taken home grown veg round. They often treat my boys to sweets and fresh fruit and always buy them a tin of chocs at xmas.

dont have any neighbours-thats the advantage of living on a farm in the middle of nowhere.

years ago lived in a cul de sac and hated it-too many neighbours who cant keep their noses out of other peoples lives.
#12
I have great neighbours and have taken one neighbours kids out, done shopping for my older neighbours and listened for hours to their war stories as they got me drunk on Baileys lol

They take parcels in for me and watch the house when I'm away.........have no complaints

I agree with that, some of them are cool but it annoys me when neighbours try and findout everything about you and when you're in a rush, they stop you in the street and try and have a full blown convo. :giggle:

That's one of the advantages of London...hardly anyone gives a poo.

That's what neighbours are all about. :)

Personally, I don't wanna get too involved with them but if favours need to be done for each other and it's not too much hassle, then I don't see why not, as long as they don't want it all the time and they're willing to do the same. :)

Where we used to live the only thing we did do was throw them back over the fence into their own garden - Literally!
When im sat in my towel - just got out the shower i dont appreciate the 3 year old scrubber from next door opening my front door and waltzing in !!! - Jeremy Kyle would have loved that family!

But now we live in a really nice area - really nice neighbours each side, nice to sit out in the morning and not hear " shut the f**k up - get in here you little sh*t" lol Ooooh the youth of today! (She says and she is only 21herself!)

My neighbours are great - my OH has been ill for 18 months & just come home after 7 weeks in hospital (2 of them critical in ITU) and they have all been fab. Watered plants, cut grass, watched kids in emergency while in-laws or friend have come inthe night when i've had to rush to the hospital, cooked meals, asked after OH regularly - and even had a rota to ask and tell the others so they don't all bother me ! They are great ! I have to say they are all older couples - two houses in their late 60's, two houses in their late 50's, and one house about 50 - so maybe thats the generation that were brought up that way-but they are all fantastic as far as i am concerned.

We have always taken in parcels etc - but they really have gone the extra mile over the last few months.

My front door wasnt locked, just opened it to get a parcel off the postman. 2 minutes later im sat in the lounge and the front door opens and he just walks in. :?

And yes 3 year old scrubber - Spits at us, chews our car bumper :?, knows all his swear words! Chews bricks, throws bricks at me and my car!, his playground in the garden was basically a wheelie bin ! He had a brother that was about 6 - still had a dummy, couldnt speak clearly - he was so under developed.

So glad im away from that family!

I guess scrubber has different meanings in different areas.

I agree entirely abpout living in a cul-de-sac. Moved into one once and put the house up for sale again only weeks later. I will never ever live in a cul de sac again.
