what would you want for a breakfast cereal?

Hi guys and gals,

1 of many of my random but serious questions

I want to know what your kids would want for breakfast and you can also help and brainstorm.

For those wondering WTH there is currently a The Apprentice competition where classes in a near by college have the task of coming up with a breakfast cereal, character jingle and tv advertisement and so I thought would help out by flimsy some market research.

So again what breakfast cereal do your kids want can be anything wackey nothing is too stupid.....

Thanks for any progressive input.....:)

What they want and what they get are two different things. X) If it was down to them they'd have chocolate every morning...........what they have is fruit.

My kids currently want Chicken Curry & Rice. There's a new boy (from Sri Lanka) in their class at school, and that's what he has, and thinks the rest of us are nutters going to work or school on nothing more than a bowl of 'rabbit food' or a piece of toast. I am not making curry for breakfast - but maybe curry flavoured rice crispies is the future.

Cereal is really boring though.

One of my sisters children rarely eats it,she's spoilt though and has allsorts ranging from scrambled eggs to bacon sarnies.

Her other child has Jam on toast because he won't eat it either oO

I must admit,i'm not a fan of cereal myself,i eat it but don't enjoy it lol

Apparently this lad has curry and rice three times a day. His mum makes everything from scratch too... he brought in some roti (?) full of coconut and it was proper yummy. I can just about bother to make a proper curry once a week, deffo not happening three times a day. I can see his point though, about doing half a day on a bowl of puffed rice, we should breakfast like kings!

tbh kraves just about fulfill my wishlist, except perhaps not enough chocolate in them and not with milk, yuk
[mod]#11
I rarely ever have any breakfast. My morning usually consists fo Coffee and Ciggies and that sees me through to lunch.

p.s - I don't advise the above for kids X)

I asked a friend of mine who works in a school and i rang him up and coincidently the children where having there lunch and so i asked him to ask what they would want for breakfast and all kids where shouting chocolate and the usual but then at the end one kid came up and said I want a cereal that you know those dinosaurs that when you pour water on them they grow big and bigger, i want a cereal....lol i found that funny, it would be a hard and wakey to make.....
#18
I love curry,i reckon i could eat it all day too.

Sorry, gone rather O/T now and not helping oops
#19
choc weetabix FTW!

love cereal.

my idea...something that was calorie negative...so u could eat tons and get skinny.....not celery flavoured!
#20
I'm a chocoholic but i don't like any chocolate type cereal or anything sugary, weirdly,i don't put sugar on my Weetabix or Cornflakes.

But then again,i will only have hot milk,so some things are rank with it hot lol

so to sum up op

curry and chocolate is an ideal combo for brekkie, but leave out that nasty healthy cerealy stuff, prob make you constipated anyway:p
#23
I'm more interested what the kids what, like i had an idea that, if you have ever watch Madagascar 1, when the animals fall into the sea or ocean, rather than arriving in Madagascar they arrived at some cereal island where King Julian (my avatar pic) would say "I like to eat it, eat it, I like to" and everyone would say "EAT IT". Now this is either a very good idea or that I'm resident psychoville.
#24
If anyone could ask kids themselves and see what they come up with.....kids usually talk literally and there ideas might actually be good, not saying your guys are not cause they not.
#25
Curry for breakfast, only the morning after the night before

To those who like chocolate cereal you should try M&S Triple Chocolate Chunk Cereal - soooooooo good. Yum yum yum.

To the OP, something oaty with added vitamins which tasted nice.
I was just thinking if Marmite tasting cereal would be ok, I concluded no.

My eldest son says he would like something like Dennis the Menace strawberry jamees cereal. In case people dont know they were similar to krave. The Dennis the Menace ones were like Krave but not filled with chocolate, he did add this would be a bonus ; the Gnasher ones were strawberry flavoured with strawberry jam inside.

Only if you make your own curry not the take a way stuff swimming in oil. And chocolate, not the poor quality cadburys crap with vegetable oil instead of cocoa butter.

Green and Blacks chicken curry.

Marshmallows infused with chocolate, resting on a raspberry jam yum-yum. It should be sprinkled with castor sugar, icing sugar and chocolate sprinkles. The whole thing should be shaped like a stegosaurus and will contain loads of additives. It will come with a one in ten chance of winning diabetes.

Will ask my girls later, But why do cereals not have the cool free toys in anymore which was the main and only reason kids used to want cereals years ago.

I used to fight my sister to be the one to open the box and get the toy!! lol was an easy life when that was my only worry :p
#33
I asked my little grandaughter, and she said Dora the Explorer with pink things. Think she meant marshmallow.
Cereal would have to be Dora shaped though.X)

did manage to have a vaguely sensible conversation with my neice last night, she wanted chocolate raisins, marshmallow and white choc buttons with fairy dust to sprinkle on top, what she actually gets is fromage frais, banana and toast

thanks guys and the group at college have come up with a idea that:

There are 3 boxes which are split in to 2 flavours:
1) Strawberry and Vanilla
2) Banana and Chocolate
3) Apple and Toffee

and each box makes the milk that is poured on it change into flavored milk depending on the box i.e. Strawberry and vanilla would have vanilla milk and banana and chocolate would have chocolate milk and you get the point. It is aimed at the Kids but need to get parents attraction as they are the ones that ultimately buy it.

I'm just wondering if anyone could help with any input of:

1) is this idea any good?
2) what jingle and advertisement could we create?
3) would you actually buy it?
