A friend of mine placed an order for an item ( im not going to state what it is) that is worth around £200, when the item came he signed for two packages both from royal mail. When he opened them both he realised he had two of the same items.
Today he has received another item, exactly the same from a courier!

So in total apart from the one that is his he has two others.
He does not know what to do and has been messed around by this company that he is thinking of keeping them.

What would you do and if you were keeping them how long would you leave it until you would sell them?

I know its not the moral thing to do but he is really thinking of keeping them.

and no this friend is not me!!!!!

Sell one then send the other back so you don't feel bad.
#2
First I would check that whatever glitch has sent him the stuff has not charged him multiple times.
#3
well if he signed for it, then he acknowledged that he received it and he may be liable to pay for all 3

Me too, and if he signed for 3 items, then I don't see how you could get away with it

i said about the signing but he said that he could say it was not him that signed even though it was his name.
He has said about waiting to see if he has been charged first.

If that's what "he" is thinking of doing...get a new friend....
#9
i think "he" signed for it, he should send it back....tell him not to be be a thief

The fact that you are even discussing this means you have no scruples and nobody on here should even think about doing any deals with you ,A forum like this runs on the abiltiy to trust the honesty of other members and im afraid you have failed,

Tell your friend to send me the phones to look after for a few months till the heat dies down...

i find that quite offensive to be honest, one you do not even know me and secondly I am a very trustworthy person, i have just closed my ebay shop with 100 % positive feedback. I am a member of several forums where people have been conned and i for one think it is very sad. So much so on one forum I even donated money to help buy this member the exact same item.

In case you did not read the original post this was not me it is a friend, So i personally think you should take back what you have said, especially as i am currently in talks with someone from this forum to purchase an item from me...thanks a lot but you have probably ruined a sale for me :x

And would you like people saying they havent received items from you when you had posted them ?.

i did actually, and i had to deal with it in the way i had to which was to offer a refund or send out an alternative.

It wasnt a 5800 was it?

so i would like to take this oportunity to thank you for probably ruining a sale for me, as it happens, at this precise moment in time i am out of a job and i am trying to make whatever i can by selling items. Looks like that probably is not going to happen now :x

no it was a samsung tocco. are they really worth £200?

I am very honest but it would even cross my mind to keep one and send one back. If i thought i could get away with it.
If it was a company.

Leave it out man, I would quite happily pull one over on a large company if they made the original balls up and paving the way for me, however on private/individual deals I always deal honestly as my feedback on her and ebay (220+ and 100% positive attest to):x:x:x:x

i also do not think this is the place to make assumptions about people you do not know. Especially throwing ridiculous comments about not trusting me as a person when i have stated that this is not me.

And as i have stated you have probably ruined a potential sale for me which would have been a handy bit of cash for myself given that i am out of a job and have been for 3 months

They may well sell for that but whether they are "worth" that I dont have a clue, ive never even seen one, the LG Renoir does me nicely.

Good luck with your trade mate, dont let the baiter wind you up.

I know the tocco has been out for a while but this is the ultra edition. so im not sure what they are worth exactly.

I highly doubt i will get my trade now anyway, and the worst thing about this is that i am a very honest person.

He needs to be very careful about doing that especially if the company decide to take it further. He signed for them at that address, one via RM and one by courier. Unlikely the both went "somewhere else".

I have had this recently when somebody signed my name fraudulently, if you despute this with the company they will request proof of address and signatures.
#30
I think its very dishonest keeping it and you are shooting yourself in the foot if its been signed for....dont have the hassle and send it back
#31
I may have been a bit over the top but hanging on to them and saying nothing is one thing but then saying you can deny signing them takes this into the realms of fraud,And i just dont think this is the best place to discuss how to commit fraud,Maybe you should ask a mod ,i may be wrong,

I do think there's a huge difference between a larger company and a personal seller.

If the company are so slack that they send 3 items out, they can't really be taking care of their business and doubtfully will notice the loss (not making it right!) but why should the buyer put themselves out making phonecalls and arranging re-collection of items sent to them erroneously. Would a large company get back to us if we paid for something twice?

Do you really think that someone who would bare faced deny signing for something from courier ( probably getting that courier into bother) would think twice about denying receiving a laptop or a mobile phone,

The thing is tony you are making it sound as if i am the dishonest person ad you are totally wrong. I dont like the way you have slated me on this forum saying you would not trust me, when the original post says it is a friend.

just to prove i am who i say i am, here is my ebay link http://*************.co.uk/cdb-supplements/

and if you are willing to look i have the la muscle norateen for sale on there which i wanted to sell on here.

hope you are happy tony

well it seems as though it will not let me post my ebay link but if you really want to find out search for the user cdb-supplements

I apologise if i made it sound like it was you who was talking about commiting fraud, but i think it would have been sensible not to ask such a thing on here,After all there is at least one policeman who frequents this forum, Next time it would be better if your friend made his own mind up,

TBH, if the company has been messing your friend around and they're making errors, then they're a terrible company and do deserve this in some form but it's dishonest.
Companies can ask for the item back or request payment, although the first delivery was for 2 items with one signature, your friend could maybe get away with that one but definitely not the others, as they're tracked and he stupidly signed for it in his own name and they have proof it came to your address.

It sounds like your friend was messed around and when he was making contact to get it sent out, someone was putting through the orders each time but I'm sure they'll realise this error.

I once sent a much more expensive item to a customer on Ebay by mistake and although they didn't notify me, I realised my mistake and requested the item back.
Thankfully, they returned the item and I covered there costs and gave them a little bonus to say thank you and I would hope others would do the same. :)

The policeman isn't going to ask for his friends details, so no worries there, so tell your friend to do whatever he feels is right but I know a lot of people are hard up for money right now, but bare in mind the company will request the full value of the item if they ever findout, whereas your friend might require to sell it for a discount. :)
