What would you do? Goldenballs.

I was watching Goldenballs (gameshow hosted by Jasper Carrot) yesterday and basically they got to a jackpot of over £40,000. They were both very excited about getting the money when it came to the question of whether they were going to split it or try to steal it from each other. Now they had both agreed that they would split it and take just over £20,000 each but the guy was bluffing and chose to steal the money instead. I can't believe how smug he looked at ripping this poor girl off for £20,000. I think it would be alright if it was a small amount of money but that kind of money could change someone's life and I don't expect she's going to get over it that quickly.

So what would you do? Personally I don't think I would be able to contain my anger and I would jump on the other person and start ripping them to pieces. Either that or I would control myself and set upon somehow costing that person at least that amount of money in the future. Maybe destroy a car or two.

He gave himself a bit of a get out clause when he said he was going to look into her eyes just before he chose and see what he thought she was going to do. Either way she was in a no win situation, if she had chosen to steal she still wouldn't have got any money.

Well if anyone knows the guy that lied, will never trust him again, I hope

Agreed, I can't believe how smug he was. IF I had done the same thing (not that I would) there's no way I could be smug about it, I would have just ripped someone off for £20,000. He should be very ashamed of himself.

This is what I would say to the opponent. "Im going to steal + when we get outside ill split it with you". That way, the opponent won't steal because he/she will go away with nothing and that way you can have half of the sum :)

I thought about this but it's only as good as trusting that you are going to share, you could just run off with the money just the same.

I would tell the other person to steal as I would share, then split it after the show. Obviously I would have to trust them but I think that they would trust me as there's nothing in it for me, I couldn't run off with the money! At least we would get the money rather than both trying to steal and Jasper gets to keep the money. And if the other person trusted me to share then they might just put share anyway as they know I'm not going to steal as I think they're going to steal so I wouldn't put steal myself as we'd lose all the money if that makes sense???

I didnt see last nights program but thats the best bit of it, if i do watch it i usually tune in at the end just to watch the greed etched in their faces. it doesnt matter how much money is involved its always hard to call as although i didnt see it i do feel sorry for the poor lady.

I hope he gives her half the money anyway. But I bet he won't.

He'd have more than greed etched into his face after I'd finished with him!

But you'd lie and say you were going to share?
#18
Well the day before a lady stole nearly 100K from an old lady and said "i did it for my kids". Rubbish! nearly 50K is more than enough to take the kids on holiday

Agree!

I sometimes see this and I usually get it right with who going to do what.

As I've never seen the programme it's probably only me who opened this thread thinking it was about David Beckham!
#21
i would steal.
i would hate it if the other person stole, so i would make sure if i went home with nothing so did the other person.

well of course, im not going to say 'hey, im going to steal so make sure you split'
#23
Always steal never share... that way u wont let someone take u for a mug...
One guy said to the other person, I AM GOING TO STEAL!!! I will split the money with you after the show, but I am definately going to steal, so make your mind up.
The other person split/shared, and then it turns out so did he, so they went halvsies! wicked.

Both 'Steal'
#25
what happened in todays one? i missed it
#26
Gutted!! They both got nothing as they both chose to STEAL :-(
#27
They both deserved to go home with nothing last night, whats the point in 'stealing' £2500 or whatever it was, just agree to share and have over a grand each and go home with something !!

The fact they both agreed to split was worse....greedy wotsits !!! :x
#28
I've never seen this (think it might be on too early for me to catch) but it sounds like that gameshow Kilroy did where you had to either share or shaft (complete with very inapproriate hand gesture from Kilroy when saying 'shaft'). I can only assume the hand gesture was the reason it was taken off air :whistling:
