What is the Xbox Improvement Program Data on my Xbox 360?

bob100bob100

Just went to free up some space on my Xbox 360 and noticed under system items there is a file 151mb called Xbox Improvement Program Data.

Does anyone know what this is?

I assume you have Kinect? It installs and reports back faults to XBOX.

Shall i just delete it as im running low on space and dont really like the thought of microsoft collecting data like this without notifying me?

You can change your settings to tell it which data to collect.
It's probably set to none by default or it was mentioned in some terms and conditions you agreed to.

I know this is really a "non-issue" but it's the little things that bug me.......it's Kinect, not THE kinect.

It won't collect infomation on you, just on any software issues with the kinect so they can fix the bugs on the next firmware update

I have the same problem but I don't have Kinect. I just got halo 3 though and then that popped up so I believe it's something different. Email Xbox+see what they say and reply me back.
