This is our next door neighbours dog.It is chained up 24/7.In the 3 years we have lived here it has only got off the chain twice and the smell is unbelievable. They feed the dog but thats it.Lately we noticed it was barking funny and lost its hair and alot of weight. Also it seemed to have ticks. We talked to our neighbour about it but she said it just had fleas. We reported her and now she is giving off stink cos she has to get the dog treated for mange and it cost her £28.

Photos to follow.

the police told them that they could either 1) Sign the dog over or 2)Get the dog treated and clean up its living conditions. This neighbour also has 16 cats and they use my back and front garden as a loo.

Absolutely Disgraceful, the RSPCA should take the dog away from them!!! Why keep animals if you arent giving them a life?? With no exercise at all and left in a sh*thole of a garden im suprised its still alive and then they moan about £28. If people dont want to look after animals why not let them go to a family/person who would love and care for it like most people do with their pets.
Its lucky they are not my neighbours as i would make their life hell like they are doing to that poor dog.
My dogs are part of the family and get treated as such!!!

Well said. They also have a mentally handicapped daughted and most nights I hear them shouting at her to ' ****ing go to sleep'.

We had only moved into this house a few weeks when said neighbour came knocking on our door asking my husband if he could look at their washing machine.(They got a new one and didn't know how to connect it).My husband (who dosen't have the 'eye' for dirt that I have)said the place was disgusting. The dirt and cat hair on the benches in the kitchen was half an inch thick.

Our last vets bill for the cats was about £500! Couldn't claim on the insurance as it was teeth, still got done though. If you can't afford to keep an animal properly, you shouldn't have one.

It makes me so angry that people do that when there is no excuse for it.For instance, my dog had puppies (by accident) 7 months ago, then n weds we got a phone call out of the blue from 1 lady who had rehomed 2 of them saying she couldnt cope and was going to have it put down if she couldnt rehome it so i drove straight away to 40 miles away to collect him and now have him with me. When i collected him he had something wrong with his eye, i took him to vets on friday and he needs a £500 operation as he is in so much pain. I am having it donw on weds as well as him castrated so it is going to cost me over £600 that i dont have spare, but i wouldnt think twice about it and he wasnt even my dog.
It is hard for me as he doesnt get on very well yet with my 2 dogs (his mum and dad) but i know he has a much better life with me.
I was so angry that the lady who had him had let him suffer with his eyes because 'she couldnt afford it' well there is no excuse, Dont have pets if you cant afford vet bills etc. Or just take out insurance.
Both my dogs are insured and i wouldnt ever not have them but sadly as i didnt get him back till weds he didnt have any insurance and i am taking a loan out to sort his eyes out as he is in pain.
people make me so angry sometimes!! Pets are living animals why let them suffer when they NEVER need to!! Glad people agree with me.

i think seemingly having no head is the dogs biggest problem here! :whistling:

bad though should be banned from having pets tbf imo :x

call the rspca
the dog is so thin, you shouldn't be able to see his ribs like that, prob just worms but its obvious he isnt going to get wormed where he is..

RSPCA should be called in on the entire house.

Local council environmental team would look into the local hygiene issue and local council noise pollution should be able to do something if there is a noise issue too.

Police should look into charging them for allowing their pets to defecate on other peoples property potentially putting other people and their children's health in danger.

I'm sorry if this is offensive to the OP, but you have to be an extremely timid and shy person to frankly not to have gone nuts over this a long long time ago, the result of which it has destroyed your legal right to peaceful enjoyment of your home not to mention all the health issues.

I wonder what would happen if you put some gloves and a mask on, collected up all the poo, and put it through their letterbox, childish I know, but poetic justice I feel.

If thats how the talk to their child imagine how they must treat her during the day. I think you need to call social services or similar aswell as the RSPCA. :x
