Mine has to be a year I went to my mums for Christmas dinner about 15 years ago. I was helping clear away the table when my arm went over the candle....I had a black jumper on that had tiny threads coming out all over so it was sort of fluffy. Anyway my whole arm caught alight but it was such a tiny blue flame encompassing the whole of my arm that no one else could see it. I proceeded to shriek and wave my arm about doing the most craziest of moves that everyone else thought I was dancing and just started laughing hysterically at me! oO

Not mine but a friend of mine wrapped his mums and girlfriends presents at the same time and mixed them up. His mum was very surprised with the racy underwear he had bought her, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall.

When I was a kid I got an lfc sports bottle for christmas. It was filled up so I assumed it was some sports drink and took a massive gulp of it. It turned out it was shower gel.

Accusing my dad of buying cheap after dinner mints at a christmas dinner party only to then realise it was actually the guests that had brought them. I was a bratty teenager at the time - definatly not my finest moment!

Having to tell my Dad on Xmas day that I couldn't have any of the very expensive wine he had bought in especially for me as I was pregnant! I was only 20 and still at Uni. My BF was hoping we could keep it to ourselves for a bit longer but my Dad was very insistent with the alcohol! It made for a very interesting Christmas Day!

I fell into Santa's grotto as a youngster many year ago, at Selfridges whilst queuing up to see the great White Bearded man.
I leant on the glass window/panel only to find there wasn't one!!

My most embarrassing has got to be the office christmas party we had some years ago when i worked in the city. Everyone was so drunk by this time that all the men decided to do a dance for the women in their underwear. Classy :)

Anyway, i was so drunk, i thought it would be so funny to rip the underpants off one of them, who were nearest to me, so all the women could have a giggle and a google. It was hilarious, even i thought so and i was so drunk i was pretty much on the floor X)

If it wasnt for the fact that he enjoyed it, i think i would have been reported. X)

The embarrassing bit was the next day, when i had to put on a straight face as i walked into the office and all the women cheered. I claimed that i remembered nothing and that i was too drunk to know what i was doing ;)

When I as a wee lad (maybe 13) I was into impersonating many people from Tommy Cooper to Shirley Bassey, including singing... (oh those were the days......when I could sing)
Well just before Christmas my nana (she didn't like grandma) must of heard me impersonating this one person and therefore for Christmas she got me the latest Max Bygraves album.....wtf

I face timed my sister on Xmas day as I do every year as I live over 300 miles away from my family. Anyway, she was spending Xmas day with her boyfriend's family and as I was saying goodbye my husband chipped in goodbye to her and then goodbye to her boyfriend but called him her ex-boyfriends name. My sister sounded mortified as she was surrounded by his family. My husband still laughs about it till this day

My Mother always cooked Christmas dinner she would never go out for it or visit family, after my Nana died other relatives would come for dinner instead of her, after a few years this one aunt insited she cooked the turkey and brought it over on the day, my Mother insisted on buying it (so she knew it was a good one) so Mother dropped off the turkey 23 December at aunts house.

Christmas day they arrive, we exchange gifts, then Mother says have you brought the turkey in from the car? aunt says what turkey, turns out my uncle put the turkey in the garage to keep cool and forgot to tell his wife who thought my mother must have changed her mind

worst Christmas ever my Mother cried for ages, as uncle lied and said mother had not dropped it off and maybe she was starting with Dementia

Brother in law tried the old and trusted method of cooking the turkey upside down so it would remain juicy.
Fast forward a few hours and everybody's drunk and its time for dinner.
Proceeded to carve the turkey only to find there was hardly any meat on it X)
Only found out the next day he was carving it upside down lol

The other year I didn't get round to posting some of my Christmas cards so when I found them the year after I sent them out, one friend had a different partner by then so that was awkward, that's when being a tight **** backfires :D
