To cut the story short, my Panasonic SD100 High Definition camcorder was covered by Currys Whateverhappens insurance policy. It was a reasonably powerful 3MOS sensor 1080i camcorder with manual controls, focus rings etc. Unfortunately, last week it was damaged and sent it to Currys for repair.
They couldn't repair it. They sent me a letter saying they will replace it with much cheaper model (Panasonic SDR-S50) which does not even record HD. I can't believe a genius in their insurance team checked my camcorder and decided to replace it with non-HD model. I have been paying a lot of money every month for that insurance. Their T&C says if they can't repair it, they will replace it with equivalent model available in the market.
So the question is Is there anything I can do to get similar specs model?
Has anyone gone through this before?
