That size? Plasma, well i went for a 50" Plasma, pic is decent on sky (via scart) and 360 and PS3 - component and HDMI respectively . .

Well depends what you are plugging into it . . .
#2
cheers gringo have some rep, plugging ps3 into it at the moment, the plasma is not full hd but the lcd one is! does that make much of a difference
#3
I have heard from a lot of people who say samsung own the lcd market, however their plasmas are not so good.

if thats of use

the 1080p will make a noticeable difference with a tv of that size
#5
report your findings if your testing them both,
i am looking for a bigger tv.

cheers
#6
going to go with the plasmas, each have their own plus and minus points,

Anything bigger than that would be better off getting a projector...

i ment bigger than the 37" i have currently.

ive got one,
not practical for everyday use.
#9
look at this... dunno if its at all bias towards pioneer products but looks like it may help you a little...

I swapped a 40" Sammy LCD for the 50" Sammy Plasma, both SD (sky) and HD (Xbox/PS3) look better on the plasma imho . . . . .

not unless you have a PS3 or blu ray.
nothing else will give you a 1080p output.

digital freeview/cable/sky not in 1080p
sky HD or virgin HD-not in 1080p

HUKD logic dictates "you get what you pay for" therefore get the more expensive one.
HTH.

like i said, that is just what i had heard.

off checking out tv's tomorrow

the porter
it shows bias toward pioneer because pure and simple they make the best plasmas imo ,when pio ditch plasma and push a new tv standard then u know plasma is dead untill then if u can afford it the pio outshines everything.fact

They do LCD's now.
#17
just remember
if there was a clear winner between LCD and plasma...the manufacturers would ONLY be making that one and the shops would only be selling the winner.

both types are made for different peoples viewing.
choose with your eyes, not specifications and your wallet

is it in my price range?
does it have enough connections on for my external equipment?
can the shop show me the picture through an aerial or cable/sky box?
does the picture look good for the distance i'll be sat from it?
will it look nice in my home?

forget everything else

it all depends on your eyes
we have an lg 60" plasma in our shop front window playing blu ray from a ps3
i doubt any of our customers could identify the difference between its 720p picture and the 40" samsung lcd series 6 sitting next to it playing blu ray in 1080p

I would have thought panasonic seeing as they make the screens for the kuro series.

Nah, Sky normal, hooked up to the LCD, looked bad, the picture is "warmer" on the plasma and contrast seems better.

The PS3/Xbox lookes awesome, but it did on the LCD . . .
