BT Broadband

BT is pricey but if you want the quality its the only way.

If youve got a BT landline do a speed test to make sure you can get a decent speed here

Although ive never tried Virgin fibre so get some info from those customers

I have Virgin fibre broadband and it is exceptional. In all my future houses I am going to have Sky TV, but pay extra and just get Virgin fibre broadband if it is available.

I like BT , when you see the 24MB deals be a little carefull as there are other things to consider like latency/lag time which are hidden. Also fyi BT will be upgrading their network to about 10 million homes by 2012 enabling speeds of 20MB.

With virgin I always get what the package says instead of up to.

BT is crap, talk talk are good I game and gamed with them most days for 4 years.

Care to explain why BT are crap?

They are pricey but wouldnt say crap

I had talktalk for 4 years, couldnt have more than 1 page up, couldnt have 2 xbox's on at same time and couldnt access the internet at all from 5 - 9 PM.

Swings and roundabouts

Dont go for tiscali or BT. Please...
For gaming, u want low latency, so fibre would be best, i.e. Virgin, however if you game ALOT, its quite possible that some capping may happen, although it should still be pretty good.
If you cannot take fibre in your area, the next best IMO is O2/BE*, im on the latter and my ping is rarely more than 30ms.
Also BT is so rubbish, their speed test fails, it said my maximum connection is upto 6.0Megabits per second.
I sync and get 16Megabits per second.. lol

I've heard nothing but bad reviews for Talk Talk, I would never use them.

I'm with Virgin (20mb) and I get a good connection all day everyday (I play pc games online but play consoles online)
