300 on dvd looks shoudy, on bluray it rocks, and the sound is so much more crisp as well.
but the image filter on 300 actually works on bluray unlike the dvd version, and the detail is amazing.

I got a ps3 as bluray player, and a 42" LG Plasma

I agree with you in the Dark Night openning bank scene which was shot with IMAX cameras. Immence.

Slightly off topic, im looking for a decent but cheap surround sound mainly for my xbox 360 any suggestions or what do you guys have?

Transformers on HD is very nice a crisp, it just makes you want to watch every film even if its no good. HD is awesome, only prob is you get so used to it you start to not appreciate it. Then you look at your little bro's tv and realise it was well worth the upgrade :)

This is why I love this site, so much nonsense on here it's fantastic.

too true! bluray maybe the 'best' format though as it has a future, but otherwise there is no difference, ive compared transformers on hd-dvd and bluray and could not see any difference, even when moving to within a couple of foot of the image

transformers is good, 300 is a gd blu ray, just a rotten movie haha

Best Audio / video

war of the worlds

when the ship first emerges from the ground and the ground cracks and glass lands. Amazing visuals and audio. Still chills me when the klaxxons go off and they start firing.

Best audio

Heat

When they start firing big time on the bank. Sound is amazing.

This may seem a little off the wall probably cause no one has heard of it - but I downloaded a Korean movie called The Good The Bad and the Weird.

This was by far the best blu-ray I've ever seen - simply the whole film is eye-popping in terms of image quality - the movie is also excellent - grab it if you can.

I just use an external hdd, convert the mkv file to mpg using mkv2vob - it splits the file into compatible fat32 file size then plug it into my ps3 - sorted.

Just search the English title mate.

I thought disney cars on bluray was awesome, the quality of the picture was amazing.

A bit off-topic, but I've just picked up an absolute bargain on Blu Ray from eBay.

Item no 200356419443 - Starship Troopers Trilogy £13.00 Buy It Now. I've just put in a Best Offer of a tenner, and they've accepted :w00t:

They've got 16 copies left at the moment.

On my 37" tv I can't really tell the difference between blu ray and an upscaled dvd on my ps3. Guess I need a bigger tv.

But this is about the best movie or scene, not the best format, and as both offer 1080P your point is null and void.

hahahaha you and your non sensical friends...so i slipped up...i shudve wrote the word best 'existing' format. but nooooo you need everything word for word cos you just dont have the understanding to grasp basics.

his point is not null or void because it is the BEST SCENE ON BLU RAY.

the OP didnt put hd-dvd or dvd or cd.....they put blu ray.
