My (Next door but one) neighbours rabbit has escaped it's hutch and has been living rough in mine and my other neighbours house!! Although we see it regularly everytime we try to catch it it escapes, rapid! So how do we catch the lil furry thing without shooting it?! Thanks!

You wont need to, cos a local cat will do the job for you soon enough.

Thats what we're worried about!! Its a dumb animal though, it just stays between our three houses and won't go further!! lol! It just hangs about and eats grass!

a towel, throw the towel over the rabbit
#6
lol@"living rough"!

bring in a girl bunny as a honey trap

You wont catch it without some sort of a trap, when we had rabbits they were a bitch to catch when we let them out in one room let alone a bunch of gardens.

Can't you find the dog who attacked your neighbours cat and set that out to find the rabbit?

angel I was going to mention that but thought the feelings would still be too raw :O)

It's probably pretty scared, so don't expect it to come to you. You can maybe lure it to good positions by tactical placement of treats, though. If you can lay your hands on it, if you can try and get your left hand between its neck and legs and your right hand on its back, you should be able to get a firm grip on it that won't cause it any harm. It'll still be able to back out of it, and it'll probably try to within a few seconds of you catching it, so call someone to help as quick as you can. Once you've got it, lift it to your chest so that it's vertical with its head pointing towards yours, and support its **** with one hand and hold it firmly to you by its upper back with your other hand, and you should be able to pin it so it won't be able to escape your grip. It'll struggle, but it'll give in soon enough.

You'll probably get bitten and **** and pooed on if it gets too scared. Might be an idea to wear your laundry day clothes until it's caught, because rabbit **** is horrible, and the **** can be sticky if it's been eating badly, which is gross.

Good luck with it, dude.

See if the local RSPCA can lend you an animal trap.

Mini update. Police still investigation the dog/owner, old cat buried. I felt sorry for my friends 10 year old so I have bought her a 6 week old kitten to be picked up Monday!

Its scared atm that why it runs away., try putting some food down for it carrots etc and then stand as close as you can while it eats them.
After a couple of days you should be able to get close enough to throw a blanket over it.

You just have to be patient http://www.lumor.co.uk/hotukdeals/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I've done this in the past...same situation, neighbours rabbit etc they wern't looking after it properly cos it escaped again about 2 days later!!!

Ours used to get out all of the time. We used a big plastic clothes basket to throw over it because it used to run out of a blanket. Once it was under the basket one of us got our arms under to hold it whilst the other held the basket and stopped it squeezing out of the gap.

It is difficult but doesn''t hurt the rabbit. Good luck!!

this may sound silly but doesnt your neighbour have a bond with the rabbit ? i only say this as our rabbit 'rooney' (cough!)lol, actually comes to us when you shout him !!, he even comes and taps on the french windows when he wants someone to give him a bit of attention ! OR is our rabbit just strange ? I cant even put the washing out for tripping over him as he circles my feet , has your neighbour tried staying in garden for a while to see if he will just come over ?
#30
can you not block him into one garden and then go from there?
#31
a box a stick a piece of string and some food
need i explane
this is how i have done it before
just be careful when trying to get from under box
