the mobile internet on it will be faster.

also they will most probably add new features to the iphone to make people want to buy it .

one thing could be an active desktop... like with widgets?

It'll become a 3G phone? faster downloads, should have video calls as well

I never understood why it was only released as a 2G, surely they should have gone the whole nine yards and released it as a 3G.

3G isn't as popular in the US as it is here at the moment, plus it's Apple, they constantly release the same product but with features that should've been included to start with :whistling:

its going to be a 2nd generation Ipod, which in past trends, 2nd gen products from Apple seem to be better than 1st gen.

completely down to your needs, the current iphone is great but lacking a bit in speed when browsing the internet. if you don't wish to use it heavily for mobile internet then it is fine.

the reason iphone wasn't 3G was down to the fact that 3G chips, up until recently, have been very power hungry so hammer the battery life if used for long periods (which is a main feature of the phone). Steve Jobs said he wouldn't realease a 3G iphone until he could get 5 hours of battery from constant 3G activity.

Not just the chips used - the nature of the 3G network means it will be more demanding in power consumption as the transmit/recieve time is more constant, the operating frequencies are higher and the computational requirements are higher. So 3G means less battery life. Which is a bad thing for the iphone...

haha! ooojamawotsit! love it!

apparently with this thing called jalbreak and ziphone you can unlock extra features of the phone making it better (does not unlock 3g capability).

but if you wanted to surf the web with it in wifi hotspots then you can do it faster and cheaper than mobile internet. so at uni or home, cafes etc
