Personally i use Maximuscle Cyclone and Glutamine Tablets. The cyclone is basically an "all round" supplement which they claim to be the "only" supplement you need. It is quite expensive and you can get cheaper substitutes but i like the taste of the strawberry one in the range.
The glutamine tablets are supposed to help with recovery, repair and re-growth of muscle tissue.
I use the superfit site and a discount code for you is BATALLFIVE but i think this runs out at the end of this month. There are usually codes around for this site all the time. Im sure others will have other views on what to take but theres my advice :)

Tbh there is limited evidence in supplements assisting muscle mass development when coupled with resistance training.
The only supplements worth touching would be Creatine or HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate) Based.

you can view it either way, theres evidence for and against every type of supplement, cos everyones genetics are different and respond to differemt regimes and supps, thats why you have to find what works for you

personally creatine does absolutely zilch for me , lots of people agree, lots more swear by it.

Scientifically speaking there is limited supporting research for most supplements.
of course there are for and against for everything but especially with supplements there are a lot of against arguments. Creatine and HMB are the only ones which actually really stand out.

like with colds. Vitamin C is what everyone says to go for... Pretty much ********. what you need is Zinc. There is also decent support for echinacea.

Same thing with lucoazade. The main supporting research behind that is a badly written paper.

Can you tell i'm a Sports Science major?

Whey does have an ok backing to it as well.
#11
how tall are you SJones?
As if you are like im imagining i dont really think you particularly need to go down the supplementation route. not yet anyway.

What are your ultimate goals of this exercise? is it for a sport or just getting fit and looking good?
it sounds to me as if you are after muscle tone rather than bulk?

lol id say its vital more than just ok, theres no way id be able to get the same amount of protein down me each day by eating food, ive tried, get too full and costs 5 x as much to do

Yea you don't need supplements.
i would recommend:
Stick with the Running for cardio fitness.
Rowing as well while at the gym, it's awesome for cardio. wear some fingerless gloves though.
Keep going with the weights but you don't need higher weights. Go for low weight (low but obviously not easy) high reps this will give you the tone you are after.

again dont bother with supplements you dont need them for what you are after.

imo no, people tend to slack off on a cross trainer or bike, run til you feel sick , ive helped loads of people get fit and lose their gut mate, my routines are harsh but super effective,

Cross trainer works best for cardio fitness.

There is no ultimate answer to quick podge removal. you just need to keep working and eat sensibly.
now im not talking crash diet. but just try and cut down a bit on junk and fats. Cut down on the carbs aswell.
with summer coming up it will be easier.
#21
Thanks For All The Advice Youre All Giving, Ive Cut Right Down On Junk Food, Do Love Carbs But Have Cut Down,
#22
thats the secret to losing weight and looking good.

Eat a balanced diet and exercise.
Add in resistance training and you get the muscle tone

but seriously avoid the supplements, they would be a waste of time and money for you.
#23
basically you will get out what you put in mate, check the routines links i gave you ..plenty of serious info in there.
#24
Cheers For The Info, Its Appreciated. I Can Tell Im Getting Fitter, I Sued To Run To The Shop A Few Doors Down And Feel Sick Lol, And Was Only Running Before The Off License Shut Lol, Have Cut Down On The Beer Too.shedloads Of Calories In It

I use Hydroxycut.

I would strongly advise not to take this crap
http://www.metabolism.com/2009/05/03/hydroxycut-bannedits-time/

As said before theres no magic supplement that will help you loose weight and be stronger. Just hard work.

Concerntrate on your diet and program, you could take steriods but again I wouldnt take that crap, plus most ppl who do it that I know of become even fatter after comming off them tells you a lot about their motivation imo, not going against pro BB'ers btw, just your average joes.

Protein shakes do help, but ONLY with a good diet, so eat the right foods, drink lots of water and have your veggies/fruits.

Ive had good results with creatine, just make sure you drink lots of water and cycle it, however usually your'll gain weight with the stuff

Oh and loosing weight, you need to run basically. Get your heart rate going fast to burn fat. I love jumping rope
