My carbon footprint is.......................a waste of time.

Don't believe what the (government paid) scientists tell you. Increased CO2 emissions ARE NOT the cause of global warming. It's just a way of making money out of you. The planet has been a lot colder than this, and a lot hotter than this over thousands of years. IT IS A NATURAL CYCLE!!

Rant over.

If the national average is over 10 and the average here is under 4 then i conclude that most HUKD members live in tents, can't drive and don't wash. :whistling: :giggle:

What i don't understand then is who keeps buying all these TV's, DVD's & Game consoles posted. :o

Now that has surprised me! Damn I must get a driving licence and a gas guzzler, more gadgets and more appliances! Im a let down!
In all seriousness we have three kids and the washer is never off consequently neither is the drier! We have a large fridge freezer too! I dont leave chargers etc on standby and use only energy efficient bulbs but in fairness thats not because i care about the enviroment its because i'm too bloody tight to pay for the extra electricity!

If anyone knows the answer to this one it would be appreciated though which is better carbon handprint wise solid fuel central heating or gas? Because i love my solid fuel heating means during the chilly months the house is cosy and warm 24/7 so its warm all night you dont wake up cos the oh has nicked the duvet and your feet are cold and when you come indoors its al;ways warm straight away without having to wait for the heating to warm the house!

I tried to do this a bit back and it all froze up,reckon mine low cos we no car,I never fly,I practically walk everywhere.I'm even not going replace my microwave which fizzled out last wk.I use energy saving lightbulbs and turn off my appliances when not in use,I only use hairdryer like a few times a yr,I even recycle if thats got anything to do with it.
#31
I did it as household and it come up 4.19 tonnes.

Oh hang on there another section, thought there should been more to it.

Appliances 1.61

So overall it comes to 5.8 tonnes per yr for my household and there 4 of us.
#32
personal 2.16
household 8.6
#33
Woohoo!
Your CO2 result: 46.5 tonnes per year!

Household: 14.23
Appliances: 1.35
Travel: 30.92

Can anyone beat that? :)

(I do roughly 30 european flights and 6 long haul flights per year - all for business, unfortunately).
#34
household

Your CO2 result is 8.82 tonnes per year

Your target footprint total is 7.05 tonnes per year
#35
I'm 1.03 tonnes and I couldn't give a monkeys about the environment, ironic eh?
#36
1.54 tonnes. i'm quite pleased with that :)
#37
3.05 which I don't think I can get much lower than that without going mad like wind turbines and the like.

I already use things as little as possible and turn everything off, not because I'm
trying to save the planet just to save my wallet!
